That's a very nice looking set of cars. However, I do wonder how many collectors here are into the F1 cars. It seems that the majority collect only the road cars.

alex1485 06-16-2009, 01:42 AM the lotus 88 looks interesting.
Superbird77 06-16-2009, 04:05 AM It seems that logos on JPS cars say "Team Lotus Special" instead of "John Player Special".
69Stang 06-16-2009, 06:59 AM I would love to have them all! Though full sets tend to be a bit more then I am willing to pay. I will pick up several select versions I am sure.
But thumbs up to Kyosho for the willingness to even tackle such a set. I know the Ferrari collection sold well, but that has a huge brand following, I would think only hardcore F1 fans would track down all the Lotus.
Thanks for posting the pic Kotetsu, and sharp eyes you have there Superbird!
hookie 06-16-2009, 04:14 PM Really awesome the wide range of models Kyosho offers in Formula 1 sets, and of course Kyosho is improving the quality in each release.
Very good release in my opinion but I havenīt neither room nor money to purchase the whole set taking in mind that there are another street cars from many other companies that need to be included in my collection.
1976Cordoba 06-16-2009, 08:57 PM If these were affordable I'd be all over it.
Nice lookig release, but where are Lotus 25 and Lotus 49???
troopeur 06-17-2009, 12:26 AM certainly in a futur set # 2 ;)

did John Player Special have to relate to tobacco? I noticed a lot of the newer tobacco sponsored older cars don't have the original sponsors on them.
certainly in a futur set # 2 ;)
Let's hope!

Yes, an English based tobacco company.
alex1485 06-17-2009, 10:16 AM Thats why then.
Kotetsu 06-18-2009, 02:07 PM Kyosho has avoided all tobacco company logos on all of the F1 cars that they have produced. You don't see the Marlboro logo on the Ferrari and McLaren F1 cars, which really made the red/white McLaren cars looking bland. The Lotus F1 cars are missing the Camel and John Player Special logos. However, there are many sources in Japan for 1/64 decals to customize your Kyosho F1 cars.
I've been thinking about getting those 1/64 decals for my F1s.
Maybe I'll buy some in the months to come
Kotetsu 07-07-2009, 03:31 PM Lotus F1 Secret Car:
Special version of the 1986 Lotus 98T as driven by Ayrton Senna at the British and German Grand Prix because tobaco company logos (John Player special) can't be used. Senna took 2nd place at the German GP. The pictures are from a Japanese seller.

Please correct me if any of my info are incorrect.

Do you know where I can pick up some Marlboro decals to customize a 1/64 McLaren MP4-2? Thanks!
Kotetsu 07-17-2009, 02:53 AM I'll ask around and see if I can find a store in Japan that sells them. The ones that I've seen were on auction pages so it's not always easy to source them.
