Well, it looks like we really need that Mega-G Peugeot 908 now. Up to this year, it was needed to chase the all conquering Audis. Now, it is a winner in it's own right.
It is kinda cool that the last win for Peugeot (1993) was taken by Geoff Brabham/Eric Hélary/Christophe Bouchut and Geoff's brother David was on this year's winning team. Both of the Brabham brother's resumes are filled with IMSA/ALMS wins. They may be Ausies but I think I speak for a lot of American fans when I feel like they're "our" drivers. They've been running on our tracks and in our series for so long that they just seem to be homies. As fans, we have adopted tham as our own.
It was also cool to see Corvette come back and win a class where they've essentially run off their competition. Ferrari and Aston Martin both opted out of the GT1 class at Le Mans and in ALMS leaving the Corvette team to challenge itself. Corvette garnered their 6th GT1 class victory at this year's Le Mans. GM may be faltering but their Icon, Corvette still rules the roost.
I hope one of the track manufacturers decides to give a new accessory track as inspired by this year's race. We really need to have the special crash into each other in the pit lane track. Four times Le Mans winner Henri Pescarolo just can not buy a break as a team owner at Le Mans.
