Hey guys -

I know that Time Tunnel is pretty popular around here in terms of the original series, or even as potential for a modeling project. A friend recently pointed me to YouTube where the 2002 pilot (I think that it was proposed for Fox) wound up. I'd not seen this before, but it sure is different from the orignal. Have a look:

I don't know....after seeing this, I just wondered why the writers did what they did with the original concept. I just wasn't sure what to make of it, but some of the visuals looked pretty good.

This film is included in the special features in Volume 2 of the Time Tunnel DVD's.

I'd watch it. I thought it was mostly well done, nicely photographed, and edited. I mostly liked the characters, even though just a pilot. It's sort of a combo of SG-1, Quantum Leap, and Sliders, with a splash of X-Files. I didn't have a problem with the "time storm" concept, but the name "time storm"and how it was visually presented was pretty lame. Still, It'd be worth broadcasting, makes for a decent stand-alone story.

Overall grade: solid B

I liked the pilot film better than the original series. I get bored watching TOS of Time Tunnel.

I first saw this on the Time Tunnel DVD set, and really liked it.

They turned the usual time travel plots on their head by having history already changed by the accident, and instead of trying to preserve the status quo, the Time Tunnel team have to "repair" the past to correct the present. It's a shame the show wasn't picked up.
