A beginner in the off-road class wants some input / ideas / hard information and general discussion comparing the Slash with the Associated SC10. I'm on the fence as far as which way to go.

You did say your a beginer in offroad. disruptor10 06-12-2009, 11:52 AM slash for sure , way more durable ..........we slash bash and there a blast Razoo 06-12-2009, 12:05 PM I'm not sure about the durability part. Most slash owners I know replace the stock parts with RPMs. I've yet to break anything on my SC10. You can't go wrong with either one. J Blaze 06-13-2009, 10:48 AM true that!!! you cant go wrong with either one! J Blaze 06-13-2009, 10:56 AM my 2cents? I run slash and t4 they dont handel the same! Im sure the sc10 and t4 would be closer in the way they handle! so if you plan on running something more than just core trucks? you should buy the sc10.. just my 2cents rednekdirtoval 06-13-2009, 11:03 AM I think the Slash is better for the beginner racer since more track's are trying to keep this class "stock". I have both, the Slash is closer racing, with less adjustment's, however the SC10 is a different animal. Tha class is more of an intermediate level on. Get both and take a kid with you, good racing.:) J Blaze 06-13-2009, 11:06 AM yep thats what its all about!!! waychoff05 06-13-2009, 11:25 AM Slash. SLASH4 06-14-2009, 12:00 AM i prefer the slash cause with a slash u just pull the trigger and go and never let up with the sc10 its all about finesse it dont handle anything like a t4 because of the transmission so i would but a slash rex 06-14-2009, 10:49 AM Thanks everyone for the input. I'm going to buy the Slash, it sounds as though that would be a beginner's best bet....especially if I can't go wrong with either one! I'll likely be back with more questions, thanks for the help. Loony 06-14-2009, 11:33 AM Yes they are 2 totally diff trucks- One is a tough basher and one is built with a racing background. If your going to Bash and not race seriously buy the Slash. If your more into racing buy the SC10. HERSHEYSQUIRTS 06-16-2009, 09:33 PM Looney, Here is that Battery Brace I was telling you about. It is hard to see but it works nice. Nick Razoo 06-17-2009, 11:51 AM Hershey- Can you give me some info on that brace? I hate the stock one and that looks like the answer! HERSHEYSQUIRTS 06-17-2009, 03:56 PM Hershey- Can you give me some info on that brace? I hate the stock one and that looks like the answer! I had it cut out on a Lazer of 3/32 Lexan. I will se if I can get any more cut. But I have one left but it hs my name etched on it. My dimensions were off slightly only about .30 off. If I can get anymore cut it will be fixed. But they work nice. I even trimmed one for a T4 brace too. Loony 06-17-2009, 06:54 PM You need to try and make some and sell them @ Jones... Razoo 06-18-2009, 07:22 AM I'd be interested in one. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
