...you never know what your going to build! Feeling a bit nostalgic for the early Ninties, I picked up a re-released Lindberg Shrimp boat in 1/60 scale , cleared the workbench ...and for no particular reason, I started building. Build,... Forrest. Build!

What a great idea! I love it when a modeler tackles an out-of-the-ordinary subject like this. If you can't post WIP photos, please post a photo or two of the finished model.

I never knew they did a kit of the boat. Wow, what a cool, non-mainstream subject.

The boat is quite well detailed out of the box. However, the configuration doesn't match "Jenny" as seen in the movie. But it is very close. Forrest's boat was 67 ft long with a 20 ft beam. The most glaring difference is the main cabin. "Jenny" is stair stepped on it's aft end. And the main mast/tower assembly is an 'A' frame style. The "Gump Box" style auxilliary helm controls aft of the hold needs added.

'Jenny' is now complete. I still need to carve figures of Forrest and Lt. Dan, paint 'em and put them in their places.

Nicely done! Lt. Dan's wheelchair is a nice touch.

That's a really nice paint job/finish on Jenny as well.

That is a fantastic build!

It's been a long time since I saw the movie. What do all of the little white balls represent?

Methinks that be ice spilled out on the deck.
