View Full Version : Mistake or not That is the Question!!!!!!! calrosse 06-08-2009, 07:09 PM Ok I bought a slash but i think i should have bought the sc10 the one like the slash i think it is better then the slash what do you guys and girls think about it ley me know please thanks skyler. MDB 06-08-2009, 07:52 PM I love my Slash. I also have a T4 (the truck the sc10 is based off of) and altghough the Sc10 is a little faster (mostly because of it's lighter weight) it is also more fragile (also because of it's lighter weight). At the tracks I race at the Slash is in the Slash class and the Sc10 is in with the regular stadium trucks (and there the Sc10 is at a disadvantage). Also the Slash outnumbers the Sc10 probably 20 to 1. Unless your track lets you run a Sc10 with the Slashes I say run the Slash and even if you can run the Sc10 with the Slashes to me it is a coin flip as the faster Sc10 vs the more durable Slash.(to finish first you must first finish) I say enjoy the Slash. Later, Mark calrosse 06-08-2009, 08:00 PM Well thank you mark i appreciate the info we race them all together there are only two of the sc10 though. You are right about the 20 to 1 though there are a lot of the slash. Jerzferno 06-09-2009, 12:05 PM We have 20+ Slashes show up each week and no SC10's. This is the largest and most competetive class at our track right now. I wouldnt trade my Slash for one. Having way too much fun in the Slash class. nmrcc racer 06-23-2009, 10:43 AM i have heard that some tracks wont allow the sc10 in there sc races so you might be better off with the slash anyways seems they dont like the more realistic look of the sc10 jmo Jerzferno 06-23-2009, 11:50 AM That applies to us too nmrcc. Our class is called "Slash spec". So Slashes only. If there is enough interest maybe a "short course open class" would be created where the SC10 among others could also race? But Im not interested in that and wont push for it. Having waaaaay too much fun in the Slash spec class. BuzzBomber 06-23-2009, 12:02 PM Personally, I'd like to see a few more manufacturers jump on the "scale" truck bandwagon with race-based chassis and start growing the class. Ideally, the short course trucks could take over where stadium trucks left off. It seems to me that the early stadium trucks were a bit more "realistic" looking than the current crop, if not really scale, so the new short course trend is sort of the spiritual successor to that ideal. Slash spec is definitely FUN, the fact that you can rub fenders and bounce off each other without tangling up adds a whole new dimension to the racing. I'd like to see how it would go with higher powered, more tuneable chassis, and tires that retain the scale profile but with better tread like the new proline offerings. I guess time will tell. kra2y 07-20-2009, 07:47 PM everyone says that the sc10 handles better but at the track this weekend my slash with the same goosebumps, same 17.5 motor. sc10s were loose around corners and i could floor it whenever i wanted. kra2y 07-20-2009, 07:48 PM all the sc10 had the same problems on corners. they are good drivers, usualy better than me. 2ndGear 07-20-2009, 08:51 PM That applies to us too nmrcc. It should be "stock" sc class just as the rule's from ROAR state. 27turn or 17.5 brushless. There are no rule's on the chassis design.:dude: BuzzBomber 07-21-2009, 09:55 AM Why would you want to run an "open" SC class. Only shock oil, pinion gear, shock position, RPM gear cover and bumper mount, bodyshell, and receiver can be changed in our class, open battery choice. Next season, maybe we can open it up to other chassis and tires. ta_man 07-21-2009, 10:34 AM Right, However, our class rules were drafted LAST July and re-adopted for this season in February, when there was only the Slash, hence "slash spec". The owner is looking to running an open class with the SC10, and to keep the cost down, running a "Slash Spec" class. This class is very competative. Bottom line, if your track allows, get both, run 2 classes, make a day of it, and enjoy life a little bit. Both of these trucks are top notch, vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
