View Full Version : Racin' at my House
fordcowboy 06-07-2009, 08:43 PM Saturday I had my friends, Nick, HO JOE, & a couple of other guys out to race slot cars. We raced Fray cars for a couple of hours on my 28' x 5 1/2' Maxx Traxx road course.
We also raced Aurora Tjets, Johnny Lightning tuff ones, & made a couple of passes on the drag strip.
Of course there was a lot of BSing while tuning the cars. Joe brought along some mighty fine cars, especially the VW's.
We also ran on my 6 lane Buck track.
I'm glad everyone was able to make it. It was a good time.
Later,

tomhocars 06-07-2009, 09:04 PM Lendell,Nice setup.Lets see the drag strip.Tom
resinmonger 06-07-2009, 09:21 PM You have a great looking room and some primo tracks, Lendell! I've no doubt it would be fun to hang at your slot cave!
fordcowboy 06-07-2009, 10:18 PM Here's the rest of the tracks: The gray Maxx Traxx drag strip w/ Pro 3000 timing system w/ tree. My black drag strip w/ return lane w/ timing system. My monster truck track oval. And an extra oval track for my 7 year old to run on. It's a banked "dirt" track. I have another 4 lane road course put up that's a 5x3.
DesertSlot 06-07-2009, 10:44 PM Dang man! You guys must of had a riot!
bobhch 06-07-2009, 11:37 PM Those are all great tracks and mix in some great friends to race with and you have a party! :hat: :) :hat: Sweet!

Everything you have is like the best you can get,
and I really like that Scorpion Buck track.

hojoe 06-08-2009, 01:55 PM Let me tell you guys I had the most fun I've ever had racin' slots at Lendell's. He's got it all. His Maxx Traxx layout is the smoothest I've ever ran on. I makes my little lock and joiner look like childs play. I can't wait to be invited back.

vaBcHRog 06-08-2009, 03:21 PM Lendell,
With all those tracks you should have a mail-in Ralley Race. Run the cars for 5 laps on ever track and total up the time winner is the car with the lowest time :)

resinmonger 06-08-2009, 10:04 PM Can y'all say "road trip to Lendell's slot cave"? I bet you can. If you have kids, you can sell the TM on a trip to historic Hannibal to show the kids where Tom Sawyer (like the book, not the Rush song, eh) and The Adventures of Huckleberry Fynn were set. There must be a mall nearby that the TM and kids could shop 'till they drop at while we just go visit a friend. It would all be for the education of our kids of course 'cause we're all givers...
Russ the Hutt smells a plan...
smalltime 06-08-2009, 10:24 PM WOW!
Nice digs Dude.
Would you happen to be in the market for a routed, 6 lane replica of Darlington? I have 1 to sell, with timing system.

SuperFist 06-08-2009, 10:36 PM There's a good chance this is one of the nicest, if not the nicest H.O. slot car raceways in the world.
It's obvious what goes on there.
High speed tracks with long straightaways and sweeping turns with no technical sections to slow you down.
You'd really need to have your slot car tuning going on not to get embarrassed racing there.

Gear Head 06-08-2009, 10:52 PM Lendell,
I insist that you move to my neighborhood right now! I'll help you set up the tracks again in the new space and I'll mow your lawn weekly...honest.
You are one lucky dude having all those awesome tracks!
resinmonger 06-08-2009, 10:59 PM Hey man, if you move to California, I'll pay Carlos to mow your lawn....
fordcowboy 06-09-2009, 07:28 PM It's nice you're up for a road trip! I've had guys within 10 miles of me that wouldnt' stop by for one reason or another.
Run what you bring. And I have other cars to play with too. Everything from a vibrator to an unlimited. And kids can race too. I have an adjustable power supply so they can run with Daddy.
Hannibal is a good weekend trip, the historic district, the antique shops, the cave, & Quincy, IL is 17 miles from there for the mall & other shopping & eating. Of course Hannibal has Walmart. Can't live without Walmart.
The Mark Twain Lake is about 20 miles from here. Crappie fishing, sking, a water park & camping. Hand fishing is legal now.
And we can do a bonfire & roast marshmallows & weenies.
All welcome!
