Hey guys I have picked up several lots of Misc. Cars that would make good project starters that I have put some on e-bay. In one of the lots I bought was this tow truck. It is about 3" long, 1 1/2" wide and 1 3/4" high at the top of tow rig. It is diecast metal with plactic wheels, base and tow hooks. It is a neat looking little truck with no cab interior. On the base it says "1997 M.M.T.L. Made in China". I do plan to trade or sell it eventually but first I would like to know more about it. Can anyone help me out with an ID on it.

It looks like a Yatming, it has the wheels for it anyways.

According to the book I coauthored, " Encyclopedia of Small Scale Diecast Motor Vehicles
Manufacturers" ( 2006) , a section under Moose Mountain Toymakers , states "some of the models identify M.M.T. L. on the baseplate." This section was written by my good friend and expert identifier of unique diecast; Kimmo Sahakangas. No recent info has been developed on this company since when they were located in Parsippany NJ in the late 1990s . Sorry, but from all appearances, this is most likely NOT a Yat Ming !
However I just googled this firm and learned that Moose Mountain Toymakers Limited ( M.M.T.L.) is headquartered in Hong Kong. Their mission may have changed as they now appear to be totally into toy distribution of other manufacturers goods to the various large box stores.

It looks like a scaled down Autocar to me.
