Just starting building the Moebius and Polar lights monster models and I don't know which glue to use. I got two unbuilt models (PL's Witch and Moebius's Dr. Jekell) and I am afraid to start em due to my glue delema.

I've been reading on this forum here of basically three common glues.... Testers Liquid Cement, CA glues, and various welding glues like Tenax-7 or Plastruct.

Which do I use? Or will a model require multiple types of glue? Do I use the glues on BOTH edges of what is being glued together or does that depend on the type of glue itself?

I use Testor's Model Master Liquid Cement for Plastic Models. I use the kind with the thin needle tip. Lately, I've been using 2 part epoxy's on things that I want hyper secure.

Put the glue around the edge of one part and glue it to the other. Be sparing with your application; don't over do it.

You probably can't go wrong with testors liquid on a styrene model. Brush it on both parts and squeeze 'em together before it dries.

I've been using mostly Tenax these days. It's way stronger than Testors. Place the parts together, then dab a brush into the tenax and "bleed" the glue into the seam with capillary action. Squeeze the parts together immediately and you should get a bead of melted plastic squeeze up thru the seam. Sand that down after it hardens. It almost eliminates the need to putty seams.

You really shouldn't need epoxy or superglue for styrene, but a lot of people like to use them anyway. Superglue can be very good as a seam-filler. It sands very smooth and doesn't shrink, unlike green putty.
