Hi Everyone,
Just following up on G-G's earlier post on comparing the 1/64 Kyosho Lotus 7 and the Lamborghini LM002 I'm also doing a comparison between some of the biggest and smallest diecast cars that I have. These are between the Isetta, Lotus 7, and the 1959 Cadillac from M2 Machines/Castline. The Cadillac looks huge, but it's actually true 1/64 by my measurements.

Great. :) It looks like 3 Isettas in a row are equal length of one Caddy. :p
On a side note, that M2 Cadillac looks really good. Wheels could be better, but overall casting and details are very nice.

The Isetta is shorter than Caddy passenger compartment!

I agree - great pics. I think The Isetta is actual scale too which in perspective really shows the various sizing. Both look very accurate........

The Lotus comparatively looks small though.......... Weren't those about the size of a Morgan or the MG?? That one seems tiny. Not a bash on Kyosho, merely on this particular casting.

Scale: A true 1/64th scale 6"0" male is approx 25mm high +/- 1mm Could this scale person fit in that car - it does not seem likely, but it may very well be in scale.....

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the nice comments. I checked out dimensions for the Lotus 7 on the web and came up with these:
L= 10'-11 1/2", W= 4'-7", H= 3'-3 1/2" (up to the top of windshield.)

versus the diecast measurements:
L= 490mm (measured to the end of spare wheel rack), W= 230mm, H= 150mm

After doing some math the Kyosho car does come out true to 1/64 scale. Maybe someone with the same car can double check on this? Here's a real life photo for reference:

Is that Isetta a later version of the car Jeremy Clarkson drove on Top Gear?

Thanks Josh, I was always curious if Kyosho was indeed 1/64.
The numbers are off a wee bit, assuming I did my math right

I am guessing the car was 49mm which would make it 1.93 inches
1.93 x 64 would be 123.52 inches
10 feet 11 1/2 inches would equal 131 1/2 inches.

Heighth
diecast- 37.76 inches
actual- 39 1/2 inches

Width
diecast-58.24 inches
actual- 55 inches

With the H and W numbers a 2 inch difference translates into a 0.03 inch measuring difference. Plus we are not sure where the manufacturer did the actual measurements. I would say the data is more than accurate enough for our needs.
