There was a tracking of 1/24th BB GM's earlier.

With the number of collectors I see looking for the same car to complete the set, it makes me wonder why the shortage. I wouldn't view the 1980 as being the most desirable of the six, but it sure is the hardest to come by.

I don't think I've seen any car that there were 50 of be this hard to locate.

If you have one or know of someone who definitely has one, please post the serial number here.

FRANK...... i wish i was adding my name to the list as the owner of this car.....but i am affraid i am on the other list....the one (like you) looking for this car....i have every other bb in the series....and the sad part for me is i found a 80 vette on the peg in tru and i was not collecting bb at the time and sold it for 125.00 now what i would give to have it back!!!

I tracked these GM's when they came out and the 1980 was the lowest occurance on the bay with only 8 that I saw sold. I saw 18 sold on the bay for the 1960 Vette GM. I traded $160 worth of GM's to get my 1980 GM.
I have no regrets and the person who traded it to me knows he got a good / fair trade. Good luck Frank. Ebay is your best bet as one will surface in time.

I am confused (old age I guess) - Are we talking the 1/24th scale or the TRU 1/64th 80 vette - I believe Frank is/was looking for the 1/64th vette which also seems very scarce for some reason.
