Before you spend dollar one, and lift a shovel, find out what interest there is? If no one is interested, dont waste your time. Once you find some people interested, you can divy up duties, look for a spot to build, and everyone gets involved in the planning.

I grew up in SD, so I feel your pain. Not a whole lot of people out there. What town are you in? You might contact the local Parks Department and see if there is any park space that you could use. Then, like Jerzferno said, divy up the duties among your fellow racers.

How many members are in the club? Thats half the battle there. You have the people, now you need to find the spot and decide on what to build. Go to a meeting if they have one and bring it up. Im sure since they dont have a track, they would be willing to pitch in and get it built. If they are like me..........bashing gets boring very fast. They are probably all looking for someone to take the lead on this. Once you get the ball rolling, it'll happen.

Aberdeen is a nice area. You should like living there. If you already know of other RC Bashers/Racers in the area, get together and have a meeting to decide how you want to progress. Perhaps just a simple dirt oval with a couple of jumps would be a starting point for this season. If any more interest comes up, then over the next couple of years you could expand it further based on what your club wants to do. It seems as though the Slashes are pretty popular and a cheap way to get people racing. Maybe a small Slash layout would be a great start...

We race the Slash at our track too. We have down to a C main showing up every week. Thats another good thing to pitch to the club. The Slash spec racing is the hotest thing in RC racing now. Cheap, durable, and anyone can win on any given day. Might draw more people to the club too? Maybe theres a few Slashers in the club already?
