sweet. as of right now, i have drill for 2 weeks starting monday, and the saturday after my 2 weeks im plannin on makin a trip up to check it out and get some runs in. as long as everything goes as planned. i really wanted to go to the stimulus race, but had a 650 dollar gas bill, so kinda had to worry bout that!!!

Everyone do not be afraid of this track it is as smooth as most carpet tracks and almost as wide as the racing surface at dover. That is why i call it the little monster.

after hearing bud say it is one of his top 3 fav tracks, you know it HAS to be good!!!

dont wanna be a ball buster but by your dates this racewas run 2 years ago.lol but for a real question will you be putting a list of hotels together, it looks like me and my buddy will be coming but with a 8 hour drive we will probably come in late thursday night and not drive back until sunday. thanks mike

Mike, and Everyone. Give me a couple days on the hotels. I have meetings scheduled to reduce the rates for RT281 Racers. if you play golf or mountain bike you may want to spend a couple more days here. the track is about 10 minutes from Seven Spring Ski Resort and Hidden Valley SKi Resort. There is like 3 golf coasres in about 20 minutes. And if you have a fishing lic for PA there is plently of lakes.

Also, The track will have WIFI for those that always asked. Had it working on Friday, I will try to install a Booster for the lower parking areas before July shootout race. To help out with reception.

is it a sat. only race or a 2 day sat-sun race?? didn't know if mains were sun or not.

No it is Friday Practice and Saturday Race. We have 14.5 hours of daylight on that day, so we can get all the racing in in that time. Unless 200 people show up then we would extend to Sunday:thumbsup:. I hope that would happen it would take me back to the good ole days. And It would be good for Oval, I have a Major Sponsor Watching everything that goes on this year to see if they want to be involved for 2009-2010. This is the time to show that Oval can be #1 again!!!!

I think People Scared because of the nightmares they use to hear ABOUT on concrete racing, they have no idea that this track is so wide that a Carpet set up is close and now that we got the tires dailed in that it is only about 65.00 for tires for a couple seasons of racing. Cheaper than Carpet Foams that is for sure. And as you know this track is extremely nice on cars especailly with that inside wall working like ice. Heck I think it is better then ice because you can save it 95% of the time.

we used to have a track in new hampshire to race on 485 ft asphalt. and we would go thru 1 set of left sides and 2 sets of right sides for a season and this was 6 cell open mod. we were running 62mph for a 4 minute run. i would race this year round if i could way better then my 1500 dollar foam tire bill last season

For those that are planning to stay over. Rumor has it that Quality Inn and the Holiday Inn have the best lounges on the hotel list. If your into that sort of thing. :freak:

That was just under 7 seconds....

The track was also 24 ft wide....

that is FAST!

a track that's 485 in 7 seconds would be 47.24 MPH, so if they HIT 62 on the straight, to average 47.24 still the cars would be scrubbing down to about 30 n the corners!

We're running 8.5's on the 826 ft velo with 10.5/LIPO this past weekend. (Which is 66.24 MPH Average) and the radar gun caught them at 72 on the straights.

and MR. INSANE SPEED Himself - Nic Case ran his INSANE CAR to a 6.58 second single lap, proceeded by a 7.20 second lap. (The 6.58 was just over 85.5 MPH Ave - we didn't get him on the gun - but looking at the car - I'm betting he was over 93 on the straight ...

last time I remember mesuring the drive line was close to 600 ft (but maybe I was using Canadian numbers??? )....anyways, that track was plenty fast!

I have been running Reds on the left and Pinks on the right. I have seen Pinks and Purples run well as well as 4 pinks. Hope you can make it down.
