Since im going to be getting into Lips and racing, in looking at some of the picutres on the forums i see some cars running two lipos

how does the wiring work for that?

and do you even really need to do that or is there lipos that you can buy to eliminate that?

This depends on the ESC. Some like certain Novaks and Traxxas are set up for two batts whether lipo or not. The Novak HV system can be wired with a jumper wire and then only one batt connection and batt need be used. You can get different results depending on whether you want run time or voltage. Two lipos wired into a ESC usually produce the same mah as one batt but twice the voltage. For example I have two 4800 Orions in my electric 1/8th scale conversion. This gives me 4800 mah but 14.8 volts. I am using a Novak HV system with HV Esc and 6.5 brushless motor.

You can get lipos with 10,000 mah now and thus you can get excellent run time. If it is a 2 cell batt voltage would be 7.4. If 3 cell voltage 11.1

Lots of combinations available depends on what you want to accomplish, what your are running it in, and what electronics you are using.

well right now I just have a slash and a boomerang. im looking to get into 1/8th racing so im looking into the hows and whys of things. the battery wiring is just something i saw on a few cars and it was new to me. so before investing anything i wanted to know ins and outs of it.

Im still in thinking on thier a caster , losi or ae car .. just dont know which one. But wanted to know what putting two lipo packs in would accomplish which looks like Nutz4rc answered almost.

So is more voltage good for more acceleration punch? since mah is good for run time.

Buy a Nitro Buggy. Add fuel and run till your receiver pack is dead.

Let's put it this way. Which is going to light a bulb brighter, 110 or 220? The more juice you put to it the brighter it's going to be, well until it blows out that is. :D Same with voltage and batteries. The more voltage you have the faster you are going to accelerate as long as you have a ESC (bulb) that can handle it.
