I would like to see something orginized for next year. We need to start thinking about it soon. As seen it is not an easy task for anyone to undertake. Racers have proven not to work as directors, we do need a person or persons to make the effort. But IMO the most important thing is the racers following the tour. I agree money is tight, but when the tour strugles to get 25 guys at some tracks that's just sad. We also need local racers to make the races at there home tracks, part of the fun is to race against and meet new people, not just race against the same guys just at a different track. I know I'm not the most like racer, but I still love RC and want to have tracks and tours races to attend. Lets talk about who/whom we be step up.

Please don't turn this into a bashing thread. If your post isn't posative please don't post it. Hank is very good about deleting unneeded posts.

Mike...I agree the tour is a good thing for New England....however to keep a core group of racers in the tour we have to look at how many tracks and what the travel time will be fore these events....when we start having races all over New England and guys are traveling 3,4,5 hours each way...the numbers start dropping...My vote also is for 1 day shows...Sat night racing...
this way guys have time to travel back home and rest and watch football or spend time with thier family Sunday.....I feel this will keep guys interested....
It will not also affect the regular Sunday raceday at some tracks....
.
These are my suggestions....AND.....We need K/N to be part of the tour!!!!!....

Dedicated racers will travel. A good part of last years tour came from outside New England.
I think a low dollar entry fee will help having local racers support the event at their local track.
Local track classes also need to be incorporated...I understand it would make for a longer night but then again local support. NON tour classes should not be pushed to the side when a tour race comes to visit. NON tour classes should not have to pay into a tour event.. therefore the entry fee for those classes should be also reduced to local club racing fees.
outdoor indoor flat and banked track facilities need to incorporated if this is going to be atour of any kind. Nascar goes to all types of tracks.

We need to bring back the ORL for the PA, Delaware and Jersey guys. It was a shame to see a strong series disappear when the series director retired. There still seems to be interest, just need some more people to step up and help organize it.

Mike,
Where are you located ? All I did was list almost all of the tracks that are OPEN in the New England area. The 2 tracks that I mentioned that are in NY are just across the boarder of Vermont. If you check there are not alot of tracks available in New England and Marshalls is over a 6 hour drive for me to, probably why I've never been there even though I ran the NEOT series.

Hi Mike,
if I can only add one suggestion dont race for prize money.I believe it takes the hobby out of the picture. One example is a couple of years ago Tom and I drove from NH to Marshalls and had the time of our lives.raceing cost under 20 bucks and the prizes were gift cards to the hobby store. We would like to go back to Marshalls were fun is priority.

Money or no money the racing is what you make of it... if you start taking it seriously, then the fun factor goes out the window. That is all on the individual, not the series. If you can't have fun because there is prize money involved, then you might want to skip it.

I'd like to see a solid tour again next season. Plans did not work out this past season, however I plan to follow the tour next season as long as everything I have set up now stays in place.

And I agree... Turn4 needs to have a place on the schedule.

Hi Mike
I also agree the northeast needs a tour.I would only suggest one thing and thats dont race for money.racing for money brings the a hole out of people.this is suposed to be a hobby not an oportunity to cash in.One example at the money race in maine I personaly know A guy who sandbaged to go down to the b main to collect an easy 500.00.maybe A legitament b main racer could have used that prize money.
thanks, Scott

5 State shoot out . 5 Tracks 2 races at each track . That way we can cover most every body Get it Done . If you can't make it alo well . But at least and maybe have good turn out's . i would rather see good turn out's then point's or money . Just my 2 cent's

in getting the good turnouts which we all want there is no way the majority will travel across 5 states to compete....Sadly...to keep guys interested I think we will have to limit tracks and travel time to and from....

Some racers may not wish to travel ... thats youre decision. We have heard it from people before " thats too far ". So dont go.
There are other racers that do wish to travel and travel to different tracks for tour events is needed if you intend to have a "tour".

we got to ask ourselves....what is the goal of the tour....to have a steady good turnout at a few tracks that doesnt require guys to cross 3 plus states to attend or visit as many tracks and places as we can and have a small turnout?...I think there should kinda be a home track to kick-off and end the tour there....like Maximus did....then set a driving limit from that track...2-3 hours each way max as an example...

...which is why many chose to do just that. If you're gonna travel 6 hours to "have fun", then keep on going and drive to Disney World. Most don't enjoy putting the time, money, and talent into getting hacked on the first lap for cash. The NEOT could be a great thing, someone just needs to find the balance of incentives and "fun".

I agree..
Money is obviously not the ticket, Jason...
3 grand put up for the series...
4 guys in the B-Mains....
No B in the other..

The current economic situation,
lot's of unhappy racers,
too much uncertainty/changing in the equipment area.
Racing in general 'may' be a tough sell next season..
for both locals and touring deals..:(

I think the fact that the NE area for the first time in 5+ years is caught up with the rest of the country might bode well for your racing.

If racing has trouble in the area next year, even more so than it has, it won't be the fault of equipment or the economy. The blame lies elsewhere. At least the reason I stopped racing there didn't have much to do with that.

Most people can do the math and realize that unless the payout is $5K+ (per person) racing is not a profitable investment. So, what really draws racers is fun. I'll fly all over the country when I know I will have fun with friends. When I know I won't have fun I won't even drive an hour to race. What is needed to get turnouts back for you guys is an attitude adjustment at the track by some racers. FYI It isn't really the racers at the very top where the problem lies. Well mostly.

I wish people would just have fun.
Its not a job its a hobby.
Stop crying every time someone bumps you.
Your going to lose more than win.
