Got an SC10 with sealed diff and was wondering what weight oil to put in the diff for a tight off-road track I was quessing somewhere between 5k to 10k or should it be looser tighter

I put black grease in mine.
Some forums are saying oil works too. rctech

Kyosho, makes a 300k, 500k, you can get it at Impakt RC.com. I run 500K in my Slash as well as my SC10. My teamates use Bad Horsie diff lock. The Bad Horsie seems to be more consistant throught the run. The kyosho foams bad, but I like the way it feel's. Hope this helps.l8r:wave:

You need to run the locking fluid ofna make some good stuff!!!
Man this make all the difference more consistant like a ball dif!!!

Just use the black grease. It'll give the most traction in corners. Anything thicker will take traction away. Which all SC10 owners don't want.

I am running 7k and love it. I am running the Goose Bumps so traction is not a problem.

I use a belleville washer in my slashs' diff. inbetween the output gear's on the pin. No mess and it work's like a dream. I used an old belleville washer from a old losi diff rebuild. I keep stuff like that, You just never know. It has the feel of a ball diff. now. IMHO its perfect for on and off road.

30,000 for the Slash diff works really well. It feels realy stiff, but it loosens up once you run a few laps.

I'm going to try 5,000 in my SC10 next weekend, it's about 10 times looser than the Slashes diff at this setting and only a hair tighter than a tight ball diff.

I dropped down to 35wt diff fluid in my SC10. My diff is shimmed kinda tight though so that may make a difference.

It has plenty of side bite and I don't "one wheel peel".

I have been told that if u use the shims that come with the SC10 diff u should not go heavier tha 2000 wt diff oil....damage will incur...i use the 2000 and have had no problems as of yet..

If you get one of the bad diffs it'll poof regardless of fliud. Some of the diffs have the internal gearmesh set too loose.

The newer diff rebuild kits should solve the problem. I'm upgrading to a Mip ball diff soon.

Trinity Purple Stuff is what I was recommended. It might be a little hard to find. Stormer was the only place I found that had any in stock.
