Pro Hobbies Speedway Info

When: The third Saturday of each month. First race May 16th. Gates open at 9AM. Organize heats at 10 AM followed by racing.

Where: Pro Hobbies Speedway 716 Trailwood Apopka, FL

Next event: June 20, 2009 2 Qualifiers and a Main

Classes: Legends, 13.5 single cell SK Mod, 13.5 single sell Pan car. These are the 3 planned classes. Other classes are possible such as the mentioned Losi Sliders but must have at least 3 to be run.

Generalized Rules:

Legends - Box stock with the exception of bearings and tie rod turnbuckles are allowed. Stock 27-turn track owned motor program will be used. Practice with your own motor. Track motors will be handed out just prior to racing and returned at the end of racing. Each motor is numbered and rotated so a driver does not use the same motor twice in a point series. At present any 4-cell battery however this may become a spec battery class if too much disparity is noticed. Tires will be standard spec green or blue. No exotic foam compounds.

SK Modified - Similar rules as Strickland, 13.5/single.

Pan Car - Similar to Strickland, 13.5/single cell. At present, wings and cut outs are not restricted but a body rule may be implemented at a future date.

Mike Bean will provide the use of the MB Racing scoring system.

Tires - Spec on the Legends, the standard 3 pinks and a purple RF work fine for everything else.

Gearing - low! Plan your spur selection carefully. Much less than 88 tooth and you may not get the gear mesh you would like. I tried down to a 22 tooth pinion on an 88 and it was getting close to running out of adjusting space. Depending on motor/ESC combination everyone will be different but my guess is somewhere between 25-30 on an 88 spur will be in the ballpark. Some may need a few more teeth on the pinion but if so only one or two.

The track will be available for practice every Saturday by advance notice. Please contact Jim several days in advance to make arrangements.
