View Full Version : Allstar Fan Vote !!!!!!! MIDWESTRC 05-16-2009, 08:58 PM What the heck happened?????????? Too many Nascar fans are drinking too much beer before the voting!!!!!!!!!! joey Lagono( sliced moldy bread) . Give me a break !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! boatanchor48 05-16-2009, 09:15 PM Fixed Last year NASCAR had to get the Budweiser car in... They did This year they had to get the home depot car ... they did Home depot is the biggest sponsor that was not in the show. NASCAR would have proved me or at least my thoughts wrong and put the 12 car in the show (I did not vote for the 12 car I voted for the 00) boomer21 05-16-2009, 09:20 PM ooo now that rough talking bad on joey now thats some rough words 67-4-fun 05-16-2009, 09:33 PM marketing NOT RACING!!!!!!!!! NASCAR, thats explanes all that!!! nitro4294 05-16-2009, 11:43 PM What the heck happened?????????? Too many Nascar fans are drinking too much beer before the voting!!!!!!!!!! joey Lagono( sliced moldy bread) . Give me a break !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cry::cry::cry::cry::cry: What? Pissed your guy didn't get in? casper60 05-16-2009, 11:49 PM Yea.... that was not a result of a vote... considering it's a popularity vote, I don't see Lagano winning it MDB 05-17-2009, 09:49 AM Anyone know where to find the actual numbers from the fan vote? I would be interested in seeing these results just to get an idea of who is gaining or dropping in popularity.(I usually go for Waltrip or Kenny Wallace but their act is stating to go from funny to annoying to me) Lagono---Remember the commercial---"Fans, how about 300,000 to start". Later, Mark BTW---I voted for the #19 as I work for Stanley and wanted to see "My" driver in the show even though he was in the Best Buy colors. killerkoncepts 05-17-2009, 01:19 PM i agree..FIXED! Dan 05-17-2009, 01:46 PM What the heck happened?????????? joey Lagono. Give me a break !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It appears he has a stronger fan base than the others. Not hard to believe at all. People like up and coming rookies. They like clean good looking guys. Streme? Reutimann? Allmendinger? Nemechek? How busy are those souvenier trucks? Remember.. this is a fan selection. It has nothing to do with experience, wins, or whatever. It's strictly a fan choice. The more "loyal" fans, the more votes.. Bill Elliott... MPD EVERY year?? Strong fans.. Stuffed the box every year. Martin Truex... Voted into All Star race? What had he done to that point? Who was he? Junior fans??... Do you think?? It's all about the fans... nothing else. That being said... The kid came in 8th. Ahead of Junebug, Jimmie Johnson, Clint Boyer, Jamie McMurray, Bobby Labonte, Kevin Harvick... and so on. The fact that he got the 20 ride had more to do with circumstance than anything else. He was targeted to run the NNS, for JGR, until Tony decided to run his own program.. Joe Gibbs decided to put him in the car. Nobody bought his cup ride. killerkoncepts 05-17-2009, 03:08 PM Nobody bought his cup ride. Not what I heard.but his performance hasnt been good at all! ncracer1st 05-17-2009, 03:25 PM killerkoncepts you are wrong, joey was driving for his dad in hooters pro cup and joe gibbs liked what he seen and gibbs bought the pro cup team from tom lagono. so how could tom buy joey the ride if gibbs bought it from tom? all you people need to get your facts before you post. killerkoncepts 05-17-2009, 03:30 PM guess we will agree to disagree! huffrcman 05-17-2009, 03:50 PM NASCAR is trying to appeal to the youth market, so put the youngest driver in the race. KenBajdek 05-17-2009, 04:33 PM Joey Lagono is more like "Sliced toast". Highly overrated. Let's wait until next year and see what those "sliced bread fans" will be saying. I don't see that many fans voting for him in the all star fan vote. I guess Home Depot's check cleared just before the race started. I thought that Almindinger or Reutaman would have won the fan base. Fl Flash 05-17-2009, 05:30 PM It very well might have been Home Depot who "Fixed the Voting". Home Depot has over 350,000 employees and according to a good friend of mine who works for Home Depot virtually every store had a notice posted by the time clocks asking/reminding employees to go to nascar.com and Help Vote Joey into the All Star race. Good marketing in my opinion, everyone had a chance to vote for their favorite just because yours did,nt get in doesent mean it was "Rigged" by anyone. Fail Racing 05-17-2009, 05:40 PM the fan vote results are right beside nascars list of banned drugs......no one will see them because they don't really exist. Nascar is quickly going downhill, about as fast as it gained popularity TinManSEP 05-17-2009, 05:57 PM I work for the "Orange Box" as well. Every day on the main page of our computers (approx. 40 in every store) there was a direct link to "Vote for Joey". What's wrong with that? NOTHING at all!!!! If you had those kind of resources and you were a sponsor, you'd do the same. We love Nascar Racing and probably spend more $$$$ supporting Nascar than any other single sponsor does. I am a HD fan but Tony is still my favorite driver and my friends say thank goodnesss you are wearing "old Spice" LOL!!! TinMan Dan 05-17-2009, 06:09 PM Not what I heard.but his performance hasnt been good at all! I'd say that is a matter of understanding what they are trying to accomplish... Right now, the most important thing for Logano to do, in the cup series, is log a LOT of laps.. There is no testing, so he came in at a bad time, compared to drivers past. He's going to a lot of places for the first time... ever.. You won't learn much if you wad up a bunch of cars, and watch the rest of the race from the garage. You learn nada.. They want to FINISH the races, so that the next time they go back to these places, and especially when they go back next year, they have laps, and data for all these tracks. The new car requires quite a learning curve. If you look at what he is doing in the NNS, he is currently 4th in points, despite running one less race than the rest of the top 5... and has the best average finish of all drivers. He isn't trying to learn the NNS cars. Don't be fooled by his mediocrity in the cup series. There is a method to this. And to those that think his talent is overrated, you will have to reconsider your thoughts in the future, I promise you.. No offense to any of you, but I'm going to pay more attention to guys that race in that series, or are in the biddness, that think he is the real deal... MDB 05-17-2009, 07:59 PM Dan---Right on. Lagono is talented but he is coming into Cup at the wrong time with no testing allowed. Just bad timing, with the Stewart move-Even Dale Jr., Stewart and othere "matured" in Busch or truck for a few years.(with Zippy rumored to join Stewart Haas in the future that won't help either) In my opinion he will win Cup races but almost definately not this season and probably not 2010 or even 2011. I am waiting to see him run Indy in July as he has no experience there and Indy is a different world from other tracks. Joe Gibbs racing has 3 wins at Indy, 2 with the 20 team in the last 4 years,so the combination of Lagono's inexperience and the #20 teams success should be interesting. Later, Mark Danny B 05-18-2009, 04:47 PM 5/16 Sprint Showdown 5 5/16 NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race 8 5/9 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at Darlington 9 5/2 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at Richmond 19 4/26 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at Talladega 9 i think he is starting to catch on. I'm not a Logano fan or nothing, but hopefully being around his teammates won't turn him into a whiney baby. swtour 05-18-2009, 05:17 PM Hey, if HOME DEPOT lobbied ALL their employees to VOTE Logano in...and they all voted a few hundred times, I can see it. I voted ROBBY GORDON , BILL ELLIOT and the 43 Car about 200 times each. 67-4-fun 05-20-2009, 01:50 PM they should make it to where you can only vote once per person to make it more fair, but then again how you going to police it, most people will use a different sign on then vote again.. 67-4-fun 05-20-2009, 01:51 PM Hey, if HOME DEPOT lobbied ALL their employees to VOTE Logano in...and they all voted a few hundred times, I can see it. I voted ROBBY GORDON , BILL ELLIOT and the 43 Car about 200 times each. then they layoff half there work force after they voted swtour 05-20-2009, 02:12 PM I'm suprised they don't do it "American Idol" style - and MAKE $$$ off each vote vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
