I have a Craftsman mower with a 18hp engine, model#31H777 Type#0297-E1
This mower has not given me trouble until today. It was running great then started to miss and then died out. I tried to start it and no go. I let it set bfor awhile and it started right up, ran until it got hot and did the same. This happen three times. The last time it would not start at all. I check the fuse and it look good, put a new one in. Check the spark, it had spark but not blue.. I got the lawn cut so I have some time to get it running. HELP........George

Check the fuel, make sure you have no water in it and that the fuel is getting to the Carb., there is a drain plug on the carb. remove it and see if there is any water in it, if not that I would say that is the coil, check to see if you have fire when it is hot, all else fails remove the kill wire from the coil that would stop anything that would cause it to ground, hope this helps, Light Mechanic

Also try running with the fuel cap off or lose, Sometimes the fuel cap vent will clog and make the fuel tank pull a vacum and the fuel wont flow

Thanks for the quick info. I checked everything out and the last and most simple thing worked. I took the gas cap off and it started and ran right away. Cleaned the vent hole out with a needle. Thanks again guys, this group is great........George
