As a child I received a slot car set for Christmas around 1965. It was made by Eldon. I was able to expand my layout by adding a lot of track sections that a friend gave me-the track was completely compatible but with one major difference-my track was black and his was red!! Since that time I have never seen the red track mentioned in any articles, etc. Can someone shed some light on the Eldon red track sections??

Seems like Unger made some red track , I have had the tan and black and gray unger/eldon/cox. Dune buggys used the tan track , seems like I got some red years ago in a bok lot of track at an auction. I am sure i pitched it , It may have been orange and not red. Been many moons ago.
Sorry , I guess that does not really help.

Yeppers,
like slotkarkid stated some Older Ungar tracks were molded in red in the 60s. Eldon took over and started making the tracks wider also so, the Ungar tracks were narower than Eldon made them. They still go together though.
If you are looking for red track then search Eldon or Ungar slot car 1/32 track sets on pay bay. This may give you results?
I have also had White Eldon track for the snowmobile layouts, tan for the dune buggies. both of these are the wider Eldon tracks and clean up very well with simple green and then a toothbrush scrub with Goop Hand cleaner.
With the Older Ungar tracks the cars were mostly junky indy toys that barely made it around the tracks. They did make 4 way intersection tracks that are kewl and came in red, black and blue. I can't remember but, Ungar could have made some blue track also???
Bob...Eldon was made in Canada and USA...zilla
