I have a John Deere JS63 with a 6.5 Intek BS engine mower that will not start. I just recently changed the air filter. What should I try now?

Is it possable that the air filter cartridge was put in upside down? If it's the one i'm thinking about,it can go in both ways,but one way totally seals off all incoming air into the engine.I've solved that problem with several customers right at the counter.Just a thought........

Did you try squirting carb/choke cleaner into the carburetor and try starting it? If you did and it hits and dies then you have old fuel and/or dirt in carburetor. If you do then flush the fuel tank to. Cause you could have junk or old fuel in the bottom of tank. Let me know what's going on.

Was it running before you replaced the air filter?

Give as a little more info on your engine.

Does it have spark?

Is the fuel fresh?

Does it feel like there is compression when you pull the starter rope?

I have a problem that hopefully someone out there knows the solution for. Hi I'm Kevin a retiree from the "Windy City", Here is my problem: I have a less than 1yr old YardMachine with a Tecumseh 13.5hp engine and my problem is the engine constantly stalls out while in use, it also idels rough (real rough). Are there any suggestion as to; A) what may be the problem, B) what can be done to correct this problem?

If it's less then a year old, you should look for an authorized warranty dealer. Have it checked out while it's still under warranty.
