I just got results for the race two weeks ago and see that Brian J. got his late model out there. Looks like he was wheeling it pretty good too. Hope he and Tim come out this summer. Good time racing with those guys.

Steve, you figure out what you're going to do with your Late Model yet?

By the way, I'll be placing an order for a new battery from Butch tomorrow, so I won't have to be bugging anyone in the pits. Wish I could get up there Tuesday, but I don't think I'm going to make it. I want to experiment with some new stuff. Might just have to leave my setup as is for the first race.

Be on the lookout, Gary! I plan on taking you down at least once in this series.

Awesome racing last night for the first Friday Night Thunder Oval series. The track was a different beast for sure, but got a little better throughout the evening. I'm going to have to make some more changes to suit the surface out there (already had to cut a quarter inch off the front end of my Late Model).

All the problems I had aside, it was a good time. Thanks to Don for the servo help and everyone else that pitched in. It was the first time I've ever run two classes in a race and things got a bit hectic and rushed. New parts will be on order Monday and I'll definitely be back for the next one. Let's do the Sprints again! I'm finally starting to get the hang of these things. They're a bit of a challenge to dial in out there, but I keep getting better each time. Almost want to push the Late Model aside for a few races and see if I can't take down Butch.

Team Black Heart did pretty good in the 13.5 trucks. Can't wait to see CJ make his mod Late Model debut on the 5th. Let the carnage begin!

yeah, what he said. Good time. I'll be out for trucks next time.

Gotta learn to drive that Late Model a little better. I could rip off a few solid laps, then it would get away from me. Just didn't seem to slide consistently. Really need to get there more than 5 minutes before race time to work on my setup.

Hope to see y'all for the next race in the series.

XXX-STEVE,
Once again Me in late model no no no not going to happen LoL. You guys are crazy faster than all get out but CRAZY. A couple of your heat races looked more like a demo derbys LMAO. So i'll just stick with my truck:). Thank you, Team Black Heart did ok walked away with a second (SAM) and a third (CJ) so no crying or whineing from here. I'll agree with you the track was a beast but it came around in later races Thanks in part to Johns sweeping and watering. All in all I'd say for the first race of this points series it was fun

Hoping to get them soon from Jason. I'll post as soon as I receive them. I think I know where I finished, but I'd still like to see some lap times to figure out what I need to do to get better.

I don't know where I ended up. There was too much confusion at the time trying to figure out what was going on with my car and preparing my Slider for the next race.

I'm sure I was last, though. :freak:

I had the same problem with my Slider on Friday. From what I've gathered, and this is a general setup any any dirt oval car that needs more steering, you need to attach your bottom shock mounts on the inner position on both control arms in the front and rear. Also, increase your camber links in the rear by putting your mounts in the outer position on the hubs. Less caster will also help.

Might want to try these changes one at a time. If you do everything at once, it might feel a bit too drastic.

All in good fun CJ. To be honest, I wouldn't mind trying a T4 some time. I'm not married to any brand, I just want to go fast.

Kzoolou,
I know it's all in good fun I've always run Ae and like you I'd like to try a Losi once and like you I want to go as fast as I can and now that we are in this points series it means that much more you know bragging rights or Lets see who can back up his mouth. The 13.5 truck class is shapeing up to be a war zone and I know Butch and Sam arn't going to lay down for anyone so the rest of us just have to learn to go faster and drive better.

IT'S ALMOST FRIDAY Time for FRIDAY NIGHT THUNDER OVAL SERIES :) at BFG. I hear that Team Black Heart has a secret wepon. Who or what is it? Will it make them faster? Only one way to find out come out and put it down on the track and see if you can take them but be warned it won't be as easy as you think they are running hard and fast. BFG Friday night doors open at 5 racing starts at 7 WE DARE YOU !!! BFG the place where speed belongs BBBBBBBBBBBBBAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWW

The secret weapon is that Butch won't be there. Haha!

Just messing with you, CJ. Alright, who's coming out for 13.5 Late Model? The last couple of race nights have totally sucked for me. I've got a new Parma Ultimate Bumper, new diff cases in the front and rear, and a new battery. I'm determined to finished all three heats and the main!

Also, what about the Sliders? I'm going to talk to Scott later and see if he's going to make it. Gary, do you know if Carl will be there and if he's going to bring his? I just don't want to haul mine around if no one's going to show up. I already have too much stuff to carry as it is.

XXX-Steve

Yeah, I just talked to Scott and as of right now, he plans on coming up. He's real excited to run his Outlaw, so let's get as many Sprints as we can.

06-06-2009, 02:48 AM
Well, at least I finished the main. I wasn't expecting thermal issues only going a tooth higher on my motor pinion. At least I know my limits now. You looked pretty good out there with Gary's Late Model! Christian wasn't doing too bad with mine, either. Hopefully he can get something put together. I'm getting used to the carnage on the track. One more car ain't going to hurt.

Sucks you had so many problems tonight. Get that thing running again and I'll probably see you Tuesday night. Going to try to make the next couple of practice sessions.

Question how do you know when its time to replace your slipper pads and slipper hubs on a AE T4? Mine are working but look bad to me the slipper pads are black and the hubs have score lines. Will replacing them help me get better performanance?
