I've been looking at and collecting 1/64 Kyosho race cars since December and I've never seen so much great stuff available on eBay as there is right now.
Any theories why ?
Sellers getting ready to buy new releases ?
Economy that bad they need to sell their overstock ?
Market heating up with these great little cars ?
Stupid buyers like me paying too much and they see an opportunity for $$$ ?
Here's a couple of bad pics of the last cars I bought...

Hi Everyone,
I agree with the market theory. The new Ferrari #6 release is generating lots buyer traffic on eBay and this is a good time to off load any older stock simply due to renewed interest and exposure. I think I would do the same if I'm a seller.
However, as troopeur stated, the long-term market will always be supported by collectors like us dishing out large sum of money for rare/desirable cars, so make that 3 in this situation. : )

It could be what you guys say. It could also be like in my case that the more domestic brands are just not as interesting. Might even be that the Japanese market is soft right now and dealers are looking more aggressively for customers from other areas. It is a win-win for us whatever the case. Right now I haven't been shopping for older Kyosho's as my main focus is not strictly quality diecast but a wide assortment of different makes.

The financial situation is Japan is also a factor. Recently I just saw a Japanese seller auctioning off his collection of Kyosho Beads Collection, at around 36 cars if I remembered correctly. All of them are various versions of road/racing Skyline, including limited exclusives and trade show specials. In addition to all the diecast cars, in a seperate auction he's also selling of his REAL Skyline R32. He must have hit some trouble to let go his collection... kinda feel sorry for the guy.

I think they found a better market in Ebay. The kyosho prices are insanely high (thanks to people like us ) in ebay compared to the local Japanese market. Tapping the bay makes a lot of sense, considering the wider reach and very profitable sales results.
Personally, I'm not interested in buying other brands unless they match or exceed Kyosho's attention to detail and scale.
