View Full Version : Gearing Help Leonard 05-12-2009, 12:16 PM Can anyone please point me in the right direction to gear a 17.5 in a Losi XXXTCR please? Lenman hankster 05-12-2009, 02:50 PM I ran 24/78 last year with a MF2. Does it have the same transmission raio as the CR? Leonard 05-12-2009, 04:08 PM I am sure someone will correct me if i am wrong, but I think the mf2 was 2.60 and the cr is 2.43. But I could extrapolate from those numbers I guess and get it close. HERSHEYSQUIRTS 05-13-2009, 02:40 PM LEO, Gear as high as you can. run for 5 minutes and check temp. All motors and speedos are different. In my T4 i'm running a 30/72 novak motor. 110 degrees was running a LRP and it was well over 200 same gearing. Novak says to run a 7.5 rollout which would be a 25/72 I'm at a 6.2. Not sure if it helps but that's how i started..... 02CooperS 05-13-2009, 02:58 PM Leonard - Indoor at BFG I ran 69/28 with my 17.5 (Losi motor) I ran a slipper eliminator to get a TC3 spur gear on it. Losi does have a 76 spur (LOSA3933). My final drive ratio was at 5.98 and ran 140 degrees. Just like Nick said gear it as high as you can to temp where you want it. Dremel out the motor plate if you have to. I think you could run the new 72T ASC spur gear on the CR also. I know that the Losi spurs will work on the T4. Leonard 05-13-2009, 03:59 PM Thanks fellas. I gotta go get some gears tomorrow. J Blaze 05-19-2009, 08:48 AM I think you need to regear? not! great job!!!!!!!! Leonard 05-19-2009, 08:14 PM Thanks man, still working on gettin it right slashman 05-19-2009, 09:32 PM I also need to find out what gearing I should use with my 17.5. I have the havoc 17.5. This is in my sc10. It has the 87t spur on now with a 21 pinion. I know I'm way under geared. The only spur I could find in the 70's was a 78. The gear ratio in the sc10 is 6.1 I think. Any help would be greatful. Loony 05-28-2009, 03:38 PM I also need to find out what gearing I should use with my 17.5. This is in my sc10. Any help would be greatful. 75/27 for brushless stock is a really good start. Then start playing with your pinion (depending on the track) and get your motor around 130 degrees. The SC10 kit comes with a 75 spur. HERSHEYSQUIRTS 05-28-2009, 05:27 PM Stock Truck @ Litchfield I ran a 31/72 in my T4. Should have went back to a 30/72. Novak Motor w? old LRP speedo. SC10 on order... Looney what motor Speedo you runin? vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
