I have a Techumseh Model HMSK8 electric start engine on a Simplicity Snow Thrower. Had a raccoon tear up the electric start wiring, and due to the fact that a "repair kit" encludes a new starter moter (which I do not need) and costs a mininum of $179.00, I am in the process of repairing just what the 'coon chewed up.

When I removed the gas tank to have clearance to remove the starter, I noticed a yellow wire that is not connected to anything. The wire exits the engine shrowd next to the gas line that goes to the carb. Can anyone tell me what this wire is for, I cannot find anyplace that it would have been connected to.

The link below has the manual for your engine, maybe it will shed some light on what the wire is for. Have a good one. Geo
