Cant seem to figure out where to put the switch for the lighting on my flying sub, inside or outside . If inside it looks like i will have to cut a notch in the hull somwhere. How have you guys don it? Also what hapened with the fins not meeting at the upper and lower hatches. is this a mistake by moebius or were the models used on the tv show like this? kidcury

I put my switch in the tunnel (and the battery too) that way it's out of site and easy to get to through the hatch.

I also put mine in the tunnel. Post a picture of the problem, if it's what I think your talking about, I had the same problem with the lower hatch. It was the
inside lip on the lower hull, I just sanded it down and it fits great.

there are no "mistakes" in the Moebius Flying Sub Model.the mistakes uaually come from the modeller.

Make one of the jet exhausts into the on-switch!

Don't the hatches have round handles ? Why not attach the handle to a short length of brass rod so it can turn freely inside a short piece of plastic tubing glued into the center of the hatch. Attach a rheostat switch to the end of the shaft inside the bottom of the sub under the floor and solder the battery leads to the switch. Turn the handle one way and the lights go on. Turn the handle the opposite way and they go off.

If you are going to use a hatch wheel as the switch, instead of have to turn the wheel, just get a constant on micro switch (means that when pressed once it is on, pressed again and it is off) and mount it to the back hatch and use the wheel as the actuator. The wheel, which will be external, is attached to a peg that runs throught the hatch. The peg, when pressed conatcts the switch and turns it on or off.

Much like someone had shown they were going to do with the tail hook in another FS build.

Would you ever consider doing this on a commishion basis? I have two FS kits that I think it would be great to have as an upgrayed.
