SMROCKET 05-08-2009, 04:43 PM Hey Joe give me a call i may want to come down to race at this place tomorrow .... ROCKET
Porksalot4L 05-08-2009, 05:16 PM will do man! should be a good turnout this weekend from what i hear
Porksalot4L 05-10-2009, 12:04 AM well Rocket never made it but we did have a good turn out. had Brock out with us. and Walter Stuber out. also from hobbytalk we had Active thunder aka Chris Mathews racing with us along with his kids! track got better all night. a little loose during the day but it really makes you work on your chassis to get it better. i hope to see a good turnout next week for the RC for a Cure race we are having. procedes go to help those with Cancer.
if anyone has questions about the track let me know!
SMROCKET 05-11-2009, 09:57 AM Cant believe it didnt rain 80 percent chance of thunder storms .. Hope to be able to come down soon to race .heard the track was good .. jbm38 05-12-2009, 09:31 PM well Rocket never made it but we did have a good turn out. had Brock out with us. and Walter Stuber out. also from hobbytalk we had Active thunder aka Chris Mathews racing with us along with his kids! track got better all night. a little loose during the day but it really makes you work on your chassis to get it better. i hope to see a good turnout next week for the RC for a Cure race we are having. procedes go to help those with Cancer.

See you Saturday Porks for RC for a Cure event.
Porksalot4L 05-15-2009, 01:19 PM cool John should be fun. right now the weather is a little iffy but just keep an eye on it and also give the shop a call because George usually has the scoop on the weather for his track. he checks up on it constantly! lol (570)698-7798 i do know that if it does get rained out on sat, that they will be racing SUNDAY this week.
Also dont forget to go to his website. its www.laspeedway.net there you will get pics, results, schedual, directions and a few other things to help you get to the track!
one last thing if anyone goes on dirtoval.com here is the link for LA speedway. enjoy!
http://www.dirtoval.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=68
Porksalot4L 05-16-2009, 10:09 PM rained out tonight but will be racing tomorrow at 1PM! so get to the track and have some fun!
Porksalot4L 05-18-2009, 02:08 PM well i probly should just wait till either Steve ROcket or Jeff H gets on here to tell everyone just how awesome this track is! track was dialed on sunday! i personally wasnt able to go back do to other things going on but i wish i have. from what i heard from some racers, is the track is just as fast and smooth as any in the northeast! well worth the trip! also John Bath was there and im sure he will tell anyone that will listen how much fun the track is! hope to see alot more guys next sat and also i hope the weather holds out!
www.laspeedway.net
SMROCKET 05-18-2009, 02:32 PM this track is awesome and real clay ,,,, will be back weekly to have a tone of fun and race ..... Track records went down yesterday in a big way SRM
jbm38 05-18-2009, 10:40 PM Thanks Jeff, his dad, and ROCKET for their help and knowledge it helped. Worked on the car all morning Sunday after the partial first round Saturday and the car came to life and the extra point these guys gave me helped a bunch also!
ta_man 05-18-2009, 10:47 PM I see on the web site what classes they list. As someone who has raced there, what classes do they actually get enough entries to run?
Also, do I need to by a labelled DODC motor at the track in order to be permitted to enter their races or can I use plain old Novak motors?
jbm38 05-18-2009, 10:51 PM I see on the web site what classes they list. As someone who has raced there, what classes do they actually get enough entries to run?
13.5 EDM, SPRINT and LM
Also, do I need to by a labelled DODC motor at the track in order to be permitted to enter their races or can I use plain old Novak motors?
Not at weekly show even though preferred, should be a NOVAK 13.5 and DODC 3200.
Response in GRN
ta_man 05-19-2009, 08:51 AM Thanks. I've got a Novak 13.5 amd the DODC 3200.
Looked at the DODC rules package and it said "single speed transmissions only".
Are direct drive cars legal at L.A. Speedway per the conclusion stated in this thread: http://www.dirtoval.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34611
SMROCKET 05-19-2009, 10:06 AM with a track like tiss I would think the turnouts would get better as more dirtoval and carpet oval guys start running at La speedway weekly .... Put the pan cars away and come have a lil fun at LA ..... Some guys were running direct drive sprint cars and they were no faster than the tranny car guys SRM
Im heading back again this week to have some more fun ...
ROCKET
Porksalot4L 05-19-2009, 10:41 AM ta_man pretty much all classes have been running. except nitro so far. i think LA will get more guys as the summer goes on.
Porksalot4L 05-21-2009, 02:28 PM weather looks good for this weekend! talked to George today he and Bonnie are going to try and get pit road finished up for the weekend. but they are not sure. but we are sure that its gonna be a great day of racing. i think the track will be super fast also! hope to see everyone there

ta_man 05-22-2009, 06:46 PM Did I read it right on the web site that they don't start racing until 7:00PM?
What time do they finish?
Porksalot4L 05-22-2009, 09:32 PM about 10:30
jbm38 05-22-2009, 09:39 PM A BIG plus starting in the evening as the bite comes up in the clay.
Porksalot4L 05-22-2009, 09:56 PM yeah plus once we get going it seems we run a speedy show.
So whose coming to race tommorrow? should be a nice day!
SMROCKET 05-23-2009, 08:06 AM Ill be there by 4:30 with bells on ..... PPL who havent been here neeed to get to LA Speedway ... Awesome track surface and fully stocked hobby store and I mean fully stocked SRM
Porksalot4L 05-23-2009, 09:29 AM awesome Steve! will be cool to see you there. should be some great racing today! see you all there
ta_man 05-23-2009, 09:58 AM Does anyone run rubber tires? If so, what tires (F & R)?
Porksalot4L 05-23-2009, 10:13 AM good question ill ask around at the track today. but im fairly sure they all run foams. i do know that pin spikes arent allowd
SMROCKET 05-23-2009, 10:25 AM Foams are the only thing allowed as pin spikes tear up the track ... Tires can be borrowed if needed SRM
lidebt2 05-23-2009, 10:53 AM What motors are allowed in 13.5?
SMROCKET 05-23-2009, 10:57 AM All roar approved are welcome ...SRM
darrel 05-23-2009, 03:17 PM Hey guys how far do you think your track is from the ct. line? since I have to work on sun. I have to limit my travel to some extent. I checked out the web site and the track looks great.
Porksalot dont woory about the intrusion into our thread, with a track like that you should intrude on all of them.

Yeah dude I was just yankin yer chain.
Porksalot4L 05-23-2009, 11:40 PM lol Darrel thanks for the compliments about the track. but 95% of the graditude should go to the owners, Bonnie and George Fitts! they started up this track a few years back and every year have been putting loads of money in it to get it where it is today. that along with racer support for building the race shed, drivers stand, and many other things! family owned and operated and thats the way it should be!
if you take 84 from the ct line to lake arial it is just over 2 hours! sounds like a good drive but we do get done racing by 10:30 or earlier. once we start the ball rolling we do a good job of keeping it going!
Ta_man it was nice seeing you at the track tonight! I Do hope you can get your cars together for the track. i know you wont be dissapointed!
Also it was nice to see a few old faces at the track. Dave Searfoss stopped by. also Ray Macollum*SP* and last by not least RON HOUSMAN! Yeahhhhhhhhh
see everyone soon!
lidebt2 05-24-2009, 09:19 PM I'm coming from Long Island so what do I need?
Chair, Table, Ezup, extension cord, etc?
Since this will be the first time running dirt oval with a CW SE (thank you Chris Matthews).
I will be running a 13.5 with a lipo. Will a 3200 be alright or bigger?
What roll out would I need with a stock CW spur (81x48)?
Since I have never run dirt oval is there a Novice class for old people (59)?
Since I will have to stay over night any cheap, DECENT motels close by? My wife might come.
Right now I'm planning toward the end of June and July to make a few trip with work not getting in my way.
Thanks.

my sugestion would be to drive back to the stroudsburg area to sleep after racing. you might find something cheaper there
Porksalot4L 05-25-2009, 10:01 AM Lideb2 like Jbm said there is a sportsman class and its a great class. actually some good compitition in it! but you will have fun.
on the website there is many hotels listed. you have to scroll down the homepage and you will see what im talking about! the problem with the hotel prices is that summer time is this areas tourist season because of all the camps and the lakes! but im very sure if you get some time to look up prices on the net and maybe call a few places you will get a better deal. thats what i do when i go to a new track!
im really not sure about the rollouts. im clueless to gearbox's. you should ask Chris M what he would run! the 3200 battery is all you need! you will get 8 mins of practice time easy with that on the track!
you will love the track!
oldtimer 05-25-2009, 10:17 AM Will there be any edm 13.5 or 17.5 classes this sat .I have 4 guys coming in from Ct .We only run 3200 and EDM's.If there is a class we will be there. Any directions from I 84 from Ny. Thanks Ken
oldtimer 05-25-2009, 10:30 AM Looking for a setup for edm 13.5 terminator car's
Porksalot4L 05-25-2009, 01:54 PM Ken theres always a edm class at La speedway. that and late model is the big class's! 13.5 3200's is awesome on the track! you will love it. this weekend i wont be there because im going to the willow mill race but most everyone else should still be around. awesome time to be had so bring up your friends! here are some directions. also if you have gps that will help you find it even easier!

oldtimer 05-25-2009, 07:04 PM thanks joe good luck at the mill
darrel 05-25-2009, 08:16 PM Hey Ken, what 4 guys are you talking about, I know one of them isnt me cause Im going to run waterbury. Im also with no lipo or 13.5.
Porksalot4L 05-26-2009, 01:26 AM one week i ran a 4600 4cell with a 19t motor it was just as fast but my car didnt handle very well that week. so if thats all you have still come on down! not like your running for points if you can only make it from time to time.
darrel 05-26-2009, 02:25 PM Im running a 17.5 with anything from 3800's to my worn out 4600's. Im a real low bucker if you know what I mean, not because I want to be but because I have to be. I dont have a problem running against faster cars, I've been doing it all my life. Im one of those guys in constant search of those 2/10ths that Im behind.
Porksalot4L 05-26-2009, 08:39 PM Well Darrel next time your available to come on down you should! you sould like me when it comes to the low buck racing and i think LA speedway is a great track to do that at! the racers range from young kids to old men that have lost there talent years ago! come run the sportsman class if you want! youll have a blast!
lidebt2 05-26-2009, 09:46 PM the racers range from young kids to old men that have lost there talent years ago!
Got to love the "kids" of today. Since we're old we can't race that well anymore. "Kids" know more I guess.
Porksalot4L 05-26-2009, 11:37 PM lol you know what i meant!
Porksalot4L 05-27-2009, 11:04 PM you all getting ready for the race?
