... when horse-whipping criminals and miscreants (not horses) in the public square was still okay. I'll never understand animal cruelty... it's just so wrong. How can that not be clear to even the simpliest of minds?? nd

Too bad there is no surveillance footage for some eye for an eye justice.

We could bust the bastages legs and toss'im in a dumpster.

Once again I am ashamed to be a member of the human race.

I'm with you Bill...
Just took my Boxer to the vet, thought we were having issues.... 135.00 later, the vet says... she's fine all tests are perfect.. so it just boils down to "she's fat"..
Now do you think I'll go to the doctor?? oh absolutely not... !! But my dogs get great care..Not to mention spoiled..

I hear ya. When my wife worked at a police station we would sometimes foster abandoned pets, discarded puppies, and kittens that the cops would get called on after someone found them in dumpsters or along the side of a highway. Some of these cases were bad, really bad. It does make you question the humanity of humans. I have a long standing belief that you can judge a person by how much compassion they show for creatures that they have dominion over. People who engage in animal cruelty possess an innate sense of evil that can never be cured.

T-Jet Racer, you should be a very proud man.

The mookster had his operation, it was a tough nite for the little guy but tonite he is feeling alot better, still sore and some whimpering but what would you expect.
He is well drugged up LOL, and is only feeling some discomfort. The Dr. who did the surgery did it at a rock bottom price $600.00, He has collected $2000.00 so far so that should help him with the follow up care. He will need physical and hydro therapy for a while after the splints come off. Just have to hope his legs stay where they are now and not go back the way they were. Thanks for the comments!

Had a neighbor one time long ago that grabbed a cat by his tail and threw him as far as he could. He was 17 yrs old and I was 12. I had a bat in my hand and somehow it contacted his skull. Didn't even think about it, just reacted. Knocked him on hit butt and I ran like hell..still proud of myself over that.

People who badly mistreat animals will almost always badly mistreat other people too. Don't be so hard on the human race, as it wasn't the other animals who set out to rescue the dog, put his adorable mug on TV, donate $2K to perform the surgery, or put him through rehab! I think there are a whole lot more good people than bad out there, and the bad ones do need to get some sense knocked into them at an early age! Give yourselves some credit!

I've had dogs all my life and I've probably treated them better than most people I've known. There is something to say about our true companions and we could learn a lot from their unconditional loyalty. Glad to hear the pup is doing well. I admire your wife for her commitment and dedication to a very admirable profession.:)
