I want to make a copy of two movie car's from the movie (Dirty Mary Crazy Larry), The '65 Chevy and the '69 Dodge Charger ~What makes it easy is that MEV has the '65 Chevy and JL has the '69 Charger, but the ? ~ Was the Charger yellow or lime green? It looks to me like a combo of both colors.

The famous getaway car featured in the film is a 1969 Dodge Charger R/T with a 440 cubic inch V-8 engine. For muscle car buffs, the color of the Charger is "Limelight" yellow (actually, a fluorescent yellow-green). The black stripe on the side of the car is NOT a "factory" racing stripe (rather one painted on by the crew), and the wheels are classic "American Racing" brand wheels.

Hope this helps.

here's an image of the side stripe someone sent me. It just needs to be resized for the HO scale, then you can print it on decal paper. I'd shrink it for you but I don't have the right software to do the resizing the right way. rr

Jerry sent me one of those Mev 65 Chevys (and some other bodies) for some GTO paint jobs. What a guy! What a car! Will be watching this thread...you gotta post pics when you get these done...no hurry.
These are pics I took a of a real nice one at a local show here in Nebraska.

My parents had a 65 SS in this blue when I was 5 years old...it was so sweet!
Oooooooooh the Limelight yellow Mopar should be nice to...You could take a NEW X-Acto knife blade and cut some Pactra black pin-stripe tape at an angle like the picture maybe?

My Grandpa had a '66 Impala Super Sport. 396/325 hp turbo jet. He took his 64 Impala (both cars were white w/ blue interior) in for service at Lexington Chevrolet in Clifton for service. While the car was in the service bay he took a walk outside and saw the '66. He saw the 396 badge and said,"man, I just gotta have one of those". Before they were done servicing his 64, it was traded in on the '66. I always loved it when he told me that story. It was a nice car. Dave

Yes I Thank You, All for the Info on the two movie car's from Dirty Mary Crazy Larry ~ One of my favorit old car movie's, Right along with Two Lane Black Top ~ Vanishing Point ~White Lightning - With the souped-up 4 door 1973 Ford Galaxy And "Hot Rod" the one where they find an old '41 Willys in an old barn, in Gray primer and steal a 440 out of a cop car to put in it. ~ And yes the Blue Chevy in the movie is a 1966 and not a '65 "oops" and a 4 door at that, In the movie the cops keep referring to it as a 1967 Chevy. ~~ I did at one time make a 1955 Chevy from Two Lane Black Top, out of a MM Black '55 Chevy and it was not all flat Gray as a lot of people make it, It had Black dirty water stains running down both side's of the car, and I did that by pouring old dirty thinner down the side's after I painted it flat Gray mixed with a little flat Green in it, It turned out very real looking. How did I know that the MM Black '55 Chevy would turn out to be a very hard car to find now? "oops" Again. LOL ~ "clown to turkey"
