I agree. Funny guy, great warm screen presence; can't think of thing I didn't like him in. I'll have some good Italian tonight in his memory ...right after I'm done putting new struts in my Fiat (not kidding).

Heck, I liked him even when I didn't care for the rest of whatever he was in. He was just so much fun.

He was great even in tense dramatic roles, as was evidenced by his role as the USAF NCO who is ordered to betray his country in Fail Safe.
He was one of the most truly jovial of performers, and will be missed.

Gonna miss having him around:(

Blazing Saddles was one of the best comedies EVER!

He was one of the very few actors who genuinely seemed like a really nice guy. It is sad to see that he has passed. It almost feels like losing an Uncle.
I always loved watching the outtakes at the end of some of the films he was in. He always came across as very genuine.
