Thought it was time for a new thread, as the other one started late last year to get input on the facility. Now that the new season is here, we should continue on this thread.

The MX131 track is open for 2009 and racing will start 5/9/2009. For the most up-to-date information on the facility, check www.mx131.com

Good luck to everyone in the 2009 season!

Brian, I know that I probably won't be out much before 3, but Jeff might show up a little earlier....don't know for sure. We both talked about being there though, so I'm sure you'll see us at some point

Mike, I didn't see ya today. I got there late myself. I thought jeff was there but I could be mistaken. I got busy helping Dave and Chuck in between runs and then it was time to head home. Was a good turn out I thought. I'll be there tomorrow. Hank was talking about running some practice races to check out the new software so it should be a good time. See ya'll then

It was a little rough from the rain. They went over it quick with the cat and some rakes, and Kevin broomed parts of it and it wasn't bad. Does need some more work, but it should be better tomorrow. I must of seen a truck that I thought was Jeff's there as I was heading in but then it was gone. Guess it wasn't him though if he wasn't there. I'll see ya tomorrow!

Big applause to MX, what a fun track to run. Very cool to see so many people out to practice. Is there really a recession? We will be there for the opener, should have my electric done by then and run two classes! Nice job Hank and Edwin and the rest of the crew!

Had a fun day racing with everyone. Was good to see everyone again. Hope Mother Nature works with us this week. Hey Mick, hope I got that right, If you need a motor to run, let me know. I have a Werks TL21B7pro that I was running in my other buggy today. It was running strong. You can use it if you want, or I may sell it. Let me know if that interests you.

If anyone is interested, I have a RB Mods Novarossi P5-21KT that has not seen fuel after it came back from RB Mods late last year. I have decided to run OS only, so this engine has to go! Asking $225 and can have it with me this weekend.

The track will NOT be open for practice tonight, but closed for maintenance to prepare the track for the first race on the season this Saturday (5/9/2009)!

If anyone is willing to help out, we could use extra people to get the job done quicker and better! The crew should be there around 6:00 PM.

We spent several hours at the track last night to get it ready for the weekend. Here's the tally:
* More speakers installed for the PA system
* The uphill turn is now banked all the way to the top of the jump. I was able to see a 1/10th scale all the way through the turn and was able to jump the step down without any problems
* The landing of the step-up has been lengthened and you can see the inside of the turn from the far side of the drivers stand.
* Most of the track has been brushed off. This will be completed before Saturday
* All tubing is now connected with internal connectors to keep everything into place better.

Track is looking good and will be awesome for the race on Saturday.

There is a discount for the second class, but I am not 100% sure what the amount for the 2nd class is. We discussed it last week and I am waiting for the final information from Hank to post it on the site...

Gate opens at 9 AM
Practice starts at 9 AM
Racing starts at 11 AM
3 Rounds of Qualifying
1 Round of Mains

Track will be watered before each round of qualifying and when necessary before and during the mains.

Candy, soda drinks and some small food items are sold at the track. For bigger meals, there is a Subway on the corner.

There is limited power available (still working on getting this expanded). Extension cords will be required.

Entry fees:
$15 - First class
$10 - Each additional class

Personal transponders welcome.

Classes:
Slash (stock & mod)
1/10th scale electric stadium truck (stock & mod)
1/10th scale electric 2wd buggy (stock & mod)
1/10th scale electric 4wd buggy (stock & mod)
1/8th scale electric buggy
1/8th scale electric truggy

1/10th scale nitro stadium truck
Monster Truck
1/8th scale nitro buggy
1/8th scale nitro truggy

* 3 entries makes a class. A minimum of 5 entries is required for a class to be their own race, otherwise the class will be combined with a similar class into a single race. This is for marshalling reasons, as there is a large racing area to cover.

Heats will all be 5 minutes.
1/10th scale electric:
A Main - 7 mins
Each additional main: 5 mins
1/8th scale electric:
A Main - 15 minutes
B Main - 10 minutes
Each additional main - 7 minutes
1/10th Scale Nitro/Monster Truck:
A Main - 15 minutes
B Main - 10 minutes
Each additional main - 7 minutes
1/8th scale nitro:
A Main - 30 minutes
B Main - 20 minutes
C Main - 10 minutes
Each additional main: 7 mins

Marshalling is MANDATORY! YOU RACE, YOU MARSHALL! If you can not marshall for your race, FIND SOMEONE TO MARSHALL FOR YOU! If you fail to marshall the first time, you get a warning. If you fail to marshall a second time, a lap will be deducted from your qualifying. If you fail to marshall a third time, you will NOT be racing anymore that day! Pretty straight forward, right? These rules WILL be enforces at all the MX131 races this year!

I think that's all... Let me know if there are any additional questions.

I will not be able to make it this weekend but. Can electrics run with the nitros? I would much rather run 30 min than 15! Does not really seem fair that the nitros get so much more marshaling than the other classes. Not sure how many guys are into marshaling 30 min when they only got to use marshalls for less time. Does it take 30 min to decide who is fastest at a club race?

I think it would be a good idea to run electrics and nitro together. Some guys were kinda thinking about running there nitro 1 heat then elec in another. Maybe the A mains should be 15 min to accommidate both classes? We are trying to have fun.

I am happy with all u guys have done.I am not complaining. A few suggestion in the thought of max fun.

Many elec guys hate waiting while nitro guys run 30 min when they only get 5. Should elec guys get triple a mains then?
Any thoughts?

I wouldn't want to drive all that way to have a shorter main, thats the fun part about nitro. (how long are statelines mains?) Also the way the elec tech has overcome nitro there is a clear advantage, not saying they shouldn't race together but if there is enough elec split the class. I would raise the number for the split to like 6 or 8, gets boring with less cars. my 1/4 cent

I don't have a problem with combining 1/8th scale electric and 1/8th scale nitro, but cutting it off at 15 mins is not fair to nitro, as electric can run 15 mins on a single batt.

Triple mains for electric might be an interesting idea to play with. Just wondering how that could be fit into the schedule, keeping charging batts in mind.

Thanks for your input Jason! We are trying to make it interesting for all classes!

Nitro's have always run atleast a 30min A main. Electrics are 15 not 5. I'm not sure why that was done, but maybe for battery purposes. It's not like a 7 second fuel and go. But I'm sure if enough 1/8 electrics come out and they all want to run a 30min A main, someone could probably be talked into it. Marshaling is part of the game. I marshal for the race after mine and also for other races. Does that mean I get extra races to race since I did more marshaling then I had to?

Uncle E

As an electric guy, I would like to have pit stops also. Screw the idea that we run a pack and call it done. Thats all old school. Pit stops are part of racing, why wouldn't electrics pit???

Keep in mind this is the first year electrics are runninig strong enough to race,so there is going to be a learning curve.
It,s new territory!
Not all nitro events are 30min Many are7,10,15,20,30,45 and an hour or more. We can have are own rules. Not follow old time Roar and such.
Whatever

well not everyone running nitro or electric 1/8 are going to be in the a main, its all on how good of a driver you are and if they are combined cause there isnt enough of one or the other, it just shows driving skills.. the nitro will have to pit atleast 3 times for a 30min main, electric is about 2 cause they make it 15 on a charge right?.. fueling is about 8to 10 seconds so about 30second pit stops for the race and the electric is what about 30 seconds for the single pit stop so its about equal...

Just my two cents,Nitro A-20 B-15 C-10.. 30 min for cash back or special events. Besides Edwin your running a RC8 it won't stay together for thirty minutes.. lol

I guess what I'm looking for in regards to electric, is fewer classes and longer run times. Which is what MX 131 did with 15 minute mains, so I guess that is cool. Would like to see pit stops at some point.
