I would like to get a rock crawler. I do not plan to compete with it. Whats the best bang for my buck? I only want to purchase one time.

I would go with a Axial RTR. Bang for your buck it is a good rig. There are ton of upgrades available for it... (if you decide to enter that dangerous habit... ;) and overall they are a solid machine.

Plus with minimum alterations, you can rock crawl, build a scaler, or rock race.

Note the differences in motors. The first one won't crawl as well as the 2nd one because its motor is much faster.
