Thought I would get a thread going to discuss the Nitro program at BFG. Every Sunday at 11:00 will be set aside for Nitro of any type or size. We need input as to the race program itself (length of heats and mains, time between rounds, etc.) We also need input on the facility as far as pit lane, driver's stand and features on the track itself.

This Sunday will be our first Nitro Sunday program. We won't have a pit lane built, but we can find places around the track to pit. Doors will open at 9:00 with racing starting at 11:00.

Electric racers that don't mind or enjoy racing on the same day as Nitro are welcome, but will have to run the program schedule that is set up for the Nitro classes.

Along with this schedule, I would like to announce a Race Pass program which will provide unlimited practice and race event fees for a month. Pases will be available beginning the month of May:

R/C Car Pass - Includes unlimited practice and race events (off-road and oval) for the month - $100. Example if you raced Wednesday and once on the weekend your total race fees for the month would be $96 under the current program. Think about it, for a hundred bucks, you can basically live at the track like I do!!!!

Rock Crawling Pass - Includes unlimited practice and comps - $50. Under the current program if you practice once a week and attend the Sunday comps you would spend $60. With the pass you can come out when ever you want and save $10. (Price may increase as we add Rock Racing and additional Crawling comps)

Combined pass - Allows for unlimited R/C racing and Rock Crawling - $125

We will continue to offer the Store Membership for $30 ($25 for Rock Crawling or Fatal Impact club members) per month which allows for unlimited practice and 25% off race/comp fees.

For R/C racing you will continue to receive $2 off your second race day of the week and half off your 3rd and 4th race days in the same week (Wednesday is always the first race day of the week and Sunday the last) if you do not have a Race Pass or Store Membership.

Hopefully one of these programs works for you. If you tell me how often you plan on coming out for racing and practicing I can tell you which program will be best for you. We want to keep it affordable and give everyone the opportunity to join us as often as they can.

John,
Will you have a pass for your Oval racers?

John,
Will you have a pass for your Oval racers?

Oval is included in the R/C pass. Let me think about an Oval only pass. I will post a decision in the Oval thread.

Yes, the track is right behind the building. You can pit inside or set up outside.

Ok, looks like the rain has pretty much passed and there isn't supposed to be anything significant until the middle of next week. We should have no problem running outdoors on Sunday.

Bring on the Nitro!!!!!!

Plan is to do some additional work on the track after the electric program tomorrow. We need to get some plywood up to widen the lanes in a couple places.

If anyone has a chance to stop out around 3 tomorrow and help move some dirt, it would really help and you can race for 1/2 price on Sunday.

Track will be in great shape and hoping for a good turnout of nitro on Sunday.

Track ran fast and smooth tonight. Once the couple spots get widened up a tad, the nitros will fly around this course. Nice blend of technical and smooth fast sections. Should challenge everyone.

I wouldn't mind getting nitro monster trucks out to race each week on this track. My Revo will be ready to roll by Monday of next week. Anyone else game to run a class of MT soon?

Its been that way at all the tracks in the area. A bunch of people own the MT but they don't take them out to race. Only way to make it happen is bring them out in a group of 4 or more and rip 'em around.

I am up for it, we could even do it on Wednesday nights (if weekends don't work for people) if we have enough to make a class. John would let us run 6 minute heats and mains with them as long as we finish before dark.

There wasn't much to speak of in terms of nitro. Two or three and that was it. We will try again next Sunday.

I am looking to get a better idea as to who and how many are willing to run nitro (1/8, Monster Truck, 1/10 Stadium) at BFG. We have tried in the past with little success.

I am willing to give it a bit to get going, but last Sunday was very disappointing. I am not in a position to build a pit lane that ends up not getting used. In fact I am going to need some help from those that are interested in racing nitro to reconfigure/move the driver's stand and build the pit lane.

What do you say, are we racing nitro at BFG on Sundays or do I focus my energies elsewhere?

I hope the answer is Nitro Sundays at BFG!!!!!

Tdevil
05-06-2009, 02:41 PM
Anybody? :(

I know we probably have the smallest track footprint of all the tracks in the area, but we have tried to do the best with what we have.

We did widen the lanes and add the big air and elevation changes that everyone was asking for. If it still just won't work for 1/8 nitro and Monster Trucks there is not much more that we can do.

Again, just looking for a definite answer as to whether there is any interest or if I am just :beatdeadhorse:

(Just had to use Revo's favorite smiley.)

I ran my Revo out there last weekend and I must say the lanes would be large enough for two and sometimes three wide racing of nitro MT. So size of the track and wideness of the lanes shouldnt be a concern to anyone. And yes :beatdeadhorse: is the best!

Man there aint nothin small about that track. When compared to size vehicles we run, anything much bigger is just a waste as far as I'm concerned. Trying to watch a 14 inch vehicle moving fast out 150 feet from you loses its luster. I know not everyone will agree , but bigger is not always better if it is big enough.

kra2y
05-06-2009, 04:47 PM
definitly enough room for 8th and monster trucks. i ran both on the track and they flowed quite well

I agree with Leonard big tracks loose there luster, get em close so you can hear and smell them tearing up the track.

John I would be there but have to go to Florida the DR found a tumor on my dads brain so I have to fly down Sunday but when I get back I will be there. No pun taken but size don't matter in the track the lay out is very technical:thumbsup:

Ok, this thread keeps slipping to the second page.

Is there any significant interest in running nitro at BFG on Sundays?

This Sunday is the Tri County series race over at Pheasant Run. Is anybody staying around that will be out to run on Sunday?

Guessing it is going to be pretty quiet today. The Tri County series is running at Pheasant Run and MX131 ran last night.

Still haven't sensed any real interest in running nitro on Sundays here at BFG. How about it? Do we have enough interest to get this thing off the ground?

Hey! John

Anyone up there today. Just wondering if anyone showed for nitro
or for crawling.I came up yesterday and was one of 3 guys, I just thought there would be more. I guess if the core group is away it gets real slow
at the track.

Tdevil
05-17-2009, 12:05 PM
Yes, unfortunately it does.

Nobody here for nitro. Only a couple for crawling so far.
