Victor and Ben Bray are a father/son team that has been racing for years. I believe Victor primarily drives the 57 Chevy. The door slammer car has a 511 cubic inch blown Hemi that has recorded a best of 6.010 and 245.77 mph making it among the fastest door slammer cars in the world and Australia's champion for many years in a row.

The diecast car is from Classic Carlectables. The livery colors look to be from when Ben was driving the car. I love the M/T white lettering on the slicks.

One of the more unique casting I have ever seen. This just went on my "want" list. Did a little google searching based on your post...wow, these guys are the real deal! I do hate the solid black windows, an esy way out. But it won't stop me!

How did you find yours?

I had a buddy from Australia send it to me. I'll check and see if he can drag up another if you are interested.

Yes my photography skills are infamously bad. It is just shadows. What the picture doesn't show very well is that the exhaust headers actually go up into the engine compartment about a good 1/4 inch.

Sweet! Were '57 Chevys made in Australia too, or was this one somehow imported?

The Chevy pictured above is a replica body. Victor Bray originally raced a 57 Chevy which he got down to the low 9 second range. He still owns the original Chevy.

His 57 Chevy like all 57 Chevys imported into Australia was a 4 door model with a six cylinder and a steering column shifter manual transmission.
