Hey guys, been a while since I've posted....but I do have a quick question.
A couple weeks ago I was at a local flea market, and found a couple of Aurora Willys cigar box cars. One was a purple Willys with screws in the metal base.... and the other was a pinkish chrome Willys with rivets in the base. I scored these for $1 each  The pink chrome had a broken post, and a chip in one of the rear fenders and missing bumper :( The purple was beautiful though, with posts intact as well as bumper.
My actual question is this though...... Did Aurora have actual glass in these cigar cars? Neither cars had glass. Did the original Aurora Tjet Willys release have glass???
I've already added a NOS chasis to the purple Willys....just want to find out if I need to locate some glass for it to be a complete car.
THANKS!!!!!

I think they came with windshields only. No side or back window glass.

..that could detach and easily fall out of one of the openings. Any glue marks on the underside of the roof?

I'm looking at the purple Willy's right now on my desk and there isn't a single trace of any glue mark of any kind.

GREAT SCORE  -
A great number (most ?) of the Fast Faster Fastest, Speedline cars and/or the black plastic wheeled cigar box cars came without glass and were essentially reduced cost cars (i.e. no stripes, numbers etc.). I have never seen a new in package purple Willy's with a glass, but have seen it both with and without the molded in push bar/bumper at the back.
As a side note, you'll find some of the push car Willy's with a rear license plate lump and some without, you'll also find some with a diecast chassis that has drag race style headers protruding from just behind the front wheel wells and some with just the generic plain chassis....the chassis w/ headers looks pretty cool.

Yes, this purple Willys had the black wheels....and the chassis had the molded header dumps on the side.
THANKS for the help everyone
