I hate to write this thread about anybody, but the time has come to do so. The person with the user name "Wbnemo1" aka as William Babington, is a con man. Last year on 10-07-08 we spoke on the phone in regards to him constructing a "Glaive" ( A fantasy weapon from the movie KRULL) for me. We talked for a few hours on the phone and everything seemed fine. We agreed to a $600.00 purchase price for the Glavie. I sent $300.00 to him the next day to get it started to prove that I was serious. He said it would take 2 weeks to complete. Well, 2 weeks went by, then 2 more weeks, then 2 months. I called and talked to him several times asking what the delay was. After talking to him, I thought I had bad luck. I knew about the incident with his son, but after he received my money, all kinds of things started to go wrong. First he had severe weather, then he got got really sick, then his mother apparently fell one day and skinned her hands really bad. I was giving him the benefit of the doubt at first because when I called him, he did answer. He kept apologizing for the delay and assured me that he was working on the item. Well, come May 8th, it will be 7 months with no results. No emails of production photos, no calls, NOTHING!! I got a hold of him 2 weeks ago for 3 seconds, but he said he was in the middle of something and would call back in a few minutes. Guess what? No call!! I've tried several times again and even emailed him numerous times, and now he won't answer. It's my own fault. I usually don't do a transaction like this, but after seeing his profile on HobbyTalk, and speaking with him, I felt pretty confident there would be no problems. Has anyone else had dealings with Wbnemo1? i hope he felt good stealing $300.00 from an honest person!

If you have a paper trail for proof then file a legal complaint against him and finally teach this scumbag a lesson

Wbnemo1 William Babington

The WB stands for his initials, the nemo wouldn't happen to stand for northeast Missouri would it?

Cause that's where I live, and I hate a liar and a thief worse than anything.

Searching his username on Google brings up a long trail of forum posts advertising his wares, along w/ pix of him holding some of his work.

Ok. A few months ago I FINALLY got my Glaive. Not a finished product though, just the kit unassembled. He finally responded after I told him that I had relatives living in Florida that were not happy with the story I gave them about what was going on. They told me to email him and let him know that they would be more than happy to pay him a visit to get my money back. Well, guess what? The very next day he responded to me and AGAIN apologized for everything. I received the unassembled kit within a week, however, the kit isn't the greatest thing I've seen. I've seen other completed photos of the Glaive that he supposedly had done, and they looked awesome!! He said he had trouble getting a good cast out of his molds and had to redo it quite a few times till he got it right. However, there are some sections on the Glaive where resin is missing. As if the mold held onto those parts of the Glaive and wouldn't let go. I don't really mess with resin forming or sculpting putty's of any kind. I do have a friend that has used epoxy on several projects and it seems to work. He said he would see what he could do. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. If Wbnemo1 is truly the person who did the prior Glaives and all those other models, he needs to re hone his skills again and get back to the quality he used to do, not to mention following through with business transactions and not trying to take people for a ride. I have friends who loved some of his work and were going to pay him for his services, but after seeing what I went through with him, they decided not to do it. A shame too. People would get an awesome product and he would get money that he says he desperately needs. If anyone decides to do business with him, do NOT send money until your item is ready, or at least until you get some photos of your completed item. Otherwise, you might get a headache you weren't looking forward to.

Sorry it's not in the shape you wanted.

Well, I almost have my Glaive done. Here it is. It's still drying and I have other crystals to apply on the other side once it does, but here it is anyway. It took ALOT of patients due to misalignment's and imperfections. Thank God for epoxy! Anyway, I contacted (wbnemo1) and told him how much trouble I had putting this one together. He responded apologizing and told me that he was working on the re-molds. Once he finishes, he said he would send me another kit. This time the kit would be better. I wasn't expecting a replacement, but it was nice that he offered. I hope it doesn't take another year though, but we'll see. I hope he can make up for it and restore a little of my faith in people. I'll keep you guys posted.

I hope the kit he said he'd send you doesn't involve you sending him more money. Surely not...

The Glaive looks nice. I remember the movie.

Since you fancy weapons, take a look at the blade I posted pix of in the General Collecting forum today. I think you'll like it. ;)

No. I'm not sending more money. I wasn't even really trying to get a replacement, he just offered me one once he redoes the molds. I'm going to write him again and see how much longer I have to wait for a replacement. If he sends me a better kit this time around, I'll think about forgiving him for making me wait a year for the first kit. Nice blade by the way. I've always been more of a blade person than a gun. I've always been attracted to fantasy swords and knives. The more bizarre and wicked looking, the better. That's why I liked the Glaive from Krull so much. It's my favorite fantasy weapon. I wish it was metal though.
