I have a 7HP Honda G300 engine and the only way I can get it started is to take the air cleaner off the engine. It has the oil bath type with the oil in the air cleaner and then the foam insert.

I have put a new carb on it, it is getting plenty of fire. You can crank and crank, choke it and there is no fuel getting to the plug. Take the air cleaner loose and it will finally start.

I need help. Does anyone have any idea what the problem is?
