I've got a Slash and I am looking to upgrade to Brushles. Which system do you all prefer Mamba or VXL.

I would go with a 17.5 or 13.5 novak system.

Although, if you plan on racing, alot of tracks run a box stock class.

Can I run stock ESC with those or do I need to uprgrade?

You will need a brushless ESC to run any brushless motor. The brushless motor has three lead wires unlike the brushed that has only two.

The Novak Havok system is a good one for reasonable price.

The 17.5 Havoc sytem with the 23 pinion is real close in speed to the stock system(12 turn)

How close? And is it on the slower or faster side of stock?
