no new updates: Currently I think we should put in a pond in for fishing since the rain has not stopped.

Had a couple racers out now; and they all agree the track is going to be extremely fast and fun we have now proven you can run from the bottom all the way up to 14 ft away from the line with equal traction and smooth racing line. So 3-4 wide racing in the corners will most likely happen without drama. That will make for some great racing!!!!

Also JW62 should Agree the rumble strips and the PVC inner wall allows you to make a mistake and save it without crashing. As for the outside wall. only one car yet has hit it ever. but it is designed to give 3/8 of an inch if you do. keep in mind; from the run line you have 25 ft before you get that far out to test it. On another note to tell you guys how smooth it is. He came with a carpet set up bolted caps on and didnt have a problem. It is forgiving and doesnt tear you chassis up. he only raise his body about 1.5 mm.

So it will be fast and easy on cars.

Shawn,

Have you put any cap combos out there yet, the DIDN'T Stick, and/or SPUN OUT?

I'm guessing the corners are too tight for VELO Caps...but I wonder if the EHW's would work on the Right Side!

Team T2C

Joe, it has been about 17 years since I had to run caps. So What i have run is the following combo's

Pinks all the way around
L and S in the rear
L and R cars get real loose ( most likely car set up)

LR L Pink Narrow
RR R Green
LF Red
RF Green Net

That was the bast for me, But remember I do not race any more. so i am not a good judge of what is right and what is Wrong. I just try to stay between the 30 ft of race track width.

Now, Bud Denning and John from BSR are coming so we will have some good info soon. Cars are stable track has the same traction 12 ft out of the grove as on it. I didnt get video of it but yesterday they were able to run about 5 inches off each other in the corners and draft on the straights. So racing is going to be extremely good. Especially in a TOP A Main Style national racers.

I hope since i can practice daily to be pretty fast in the next couple years in concrete racing. But as it stands now. I will need about 2-3 years to figure it out.

Everyone says it is like riding a bike and that is true. But when I was younger I was doing back flips on 20" bikes. I can still ride a bike today but I am not trying a back flip anytime soon.

Guys, I am getting alot of emails and PM's. Yes there is no entry fee for this race. It is not a mistake. Just want everyone to come out and enjoy the track. Also carpet guys do not worry got plenty of protection film for the bottom of you chassis. Just come see me or JW. And on another note it is easy to drive because the traction is the same everywhere. Not like the nightmare cap tires stories you have heard in the past.

also if you need a hotel because you coming into town let me know. We are currently working on discounts for the racers that attend.

I think you'll be able to run harder tires. The down South guys are very into running the pinks everywhere, but I think you'll be faster running blues with green LR, to begin with. Nets on the right, PL on the left. Maybe even a Silver on the RF instead.

Great looking start to your track though. Hopefully I'll get to come out at some point.

From a facilities standpoint easily the nicest cap track in the country, still operating, is the Mid-West TriClone. If you ever want a field trip when you get the hang of things again.

No problem. If I'm dead wrong though don't hold it against me lol.

A good rule of thumb would be if your car is "stuck" when it is windy, 60 degrees and the track is green you probably don't have the fastest tires on for decent summertime weather after the track gets some rubber.

Also, don't forget it takes a bunch of runs for a new set of caps to break in, so don't give up on a new tire combo until they've had time to come in.

So basically if I can drive the car without holding my breath then the tires are probably too soft? LOL.

LOL nah it shouldnt be quite that hairy. When the weather is decent it should feel easy to drive on a track like that, but I'd give harder tires a shot.
