Here's my attempt at a lazyman's spectraflame paint job. I stripped the casting, took it to the buffing wheel of my grinder, finish with a hand polish job with Mother's and then shot the whole thing with Dupli-Color "strawberry" metallic paint.

I'm wondering if I should detail it or leave it as is. What do you guys think?
Thanks for looking.

I think I would paint the lights myself.

Hey Gerry,
Nice looking paint,
I have a rule, always detail, but if you can't make it look perfect, leave it off.
Chrome 3mm Center Caps would look great on the Headlights,
Try some water based paints for the Blinkers and Taillights (easily removed if mistakes are made), and maybe a Silver Sharpie touched to the door handles.
It has a very nice "restored" appearance but I always detail what I can.

Detail it. It looks great as it is but go for it. I like Pats idea on the water based paints. Cant kill it that way.

FANTASTIC!!!!!! came out real nice.... if you had another one to do with as you see fit then by all means turn it up a notch. I would leave it alone. what exactly was the casting beforehand? Where might one be able to find one?

That looks great
Has a real spectraflame look to it
I'd leave that one as it is and perhaps do another with extra detail or even white lightning style wheels etc- that'd look real cool !!

Detail it with Bare-Metal Foil - I think it is slick............

Nice custom 23-window! It looks good on 5SP's. I bet it would kill on RLRR5SP's.

It's a Matchbox type 2 found in the recent 5 pack. If I had any left, it would actually be dressed up in redline 5SP's. I guess I'm going to have to find a set. :)

Detail it out!
Looks great, but a little detail will really set it off, and draw attention from the shadow lines around the body trim...
Not pickin', just pointin'.

HINT: If you flip the base over it will lower the stance. Not sure if you are looking to do that but it is a little hint I figured out afetr working on about 50 of these bad boys.
