I've had these Tyco's since I was a kid - probably since the late 70's definitely early to mid-80's. Unlike most of the other Tyco's - HP2, HP7, 440, etc. - they have not stamp on them that indicate which chassis they are. They are fast as snot at 12V - in fact, probably just as fast as my SG+ and Turbos. Just wondering what chassis they are and what, if any of the Tyco parts that are available today, could be used to upgrade, fix, repair, or tune them?

Thanks for the help!

Howdy: The pictures I'm seeing are of the tyco 440x-2 indy car chassis. I believe them to be a bit newer than late 70's though closer to say 1984 -85. And yes you can get loads of speed parts for these cars Arms, magnets wheels tires etc. They really rock with a pair of phase II traction magnets ,a set of foam silicones on the rear, an independant front end and a lexan body. just my thoughts pleez don't go off on me.

Pull the front axle out an look behind it for the maker stamp, They may be HK chassis. As for parts, there are still lots out to upgrade an tune those, arms, magnets an so on. You can get the Mattle $3 an most of the parts will go right in (brushes, arms, magnets. ect) or there is after market, slottech, bsrt and coughwizzardcough

Thanks guys. Yeah, after doing a little more research and asking a few others, sure enough, these ARE 440x2 cars! I guess I was looking at the wrong pictures of 440x2, because the ones I had did not look anything like these. Sorry about that.

GoodwrenchIntim,

Yes. The stamp behind the front wheel is stamped with Tyco HK. All the pics I saw of the other 440x2 are Malaysia. Is there something different or unique about the HK chassis?

Thanks again for the help! I have heard about the $3 Mattel cars - need to find them so I can get some parts. These were my childhood cars and I'd love to keep them going.

Thanks!
