Any recommendations for a good brushed/brushless ESC? I'm pretty new to the brushless side, so I'm looking for some good input. Gonna be running short track oval, might make some big races later on in the year.
Thanks!

What is your budget and racing level?
Are you still running BRUSHED too?
If so, you want something that does both easy. The GTB's are kind of a pain to do Brushed with but are great Brushless units and easy to set up, but the Havoc is simple to use with both.
The LRP's are pretty easy to switch to and from brushed to brushless too.
There are lots of Brushless controls out there now...
NOVAK - The ORIGINAL
LRP
Tekin
Orion/KO Propo
Team Wave
and more...
...if you are just starting w/ the Brushless - see if someone you race with has recently bought a NEW ESC (Lots of NEW Stuff being bought lately) and has a great price on a USED unit to get you started.

Being told that the Tekin RS is pretty good, esp[ecially with the HotWire. Yeah, I still have a 19-turn brushed motor that still has a lot left in 'er. ;-)
My racing level? Well, been doin' this stuff for goin' on 25 years, but been out of the oval racing for quite some time. My first race back was this past January at the 'Birds - had a lot of fun, but my racing left something to be desired...LOLOL...
As far as budget goes...well...just buying stuff as I can afford it. Just bought a new soldering iron/station yesterday (up to 80w).
Gonna need some help on charging/disharging/caring for LiPos, too ;-)

Jimmy,
I still run brushed on occasion too, but I still use the old BRUSHED ONLY ESC's (I swap them in and out of the same car..and just leave the Motor and ESC hooked together)
The TEKIN RS I've heard good things about too, but I personally only have and have used the NOVAKS and LRP's.
Currently I have 9 Brushless ESC's for all of our cars (my sons and mine) 5 GTB's, 2 LRP Sphere's, 1 LRP COMP 06, 1 LRP COMP TC.
My son won our last CARPET SERIES race using the GTB, and had the fastest car in his class. (Sportsman 21.5/LIPO) -- but ALL the ESCs used that day were FLYING and competition was SOOOO Close.

A Novak GTB/SS Pro re-mfg system would be @165.00.

If you're on a budget, the remanufactured Novak ESC's and motors are the way to go. I run a XBR that will do both and do them well.
