I have taken 2 Rigs out of the package...1 tanker and 1 box trailer. Aside from the bent axles and/or out-of-round tires that we have come to know and love , these are some of my early observations. First let me say that I like the idea of slot car trucks and am glad these were made.
The box trailer's legs so the trailer can stand without the aid of the cab seem to be to close to the center of the trailer. Also where the wheels snap in it is very loose there and one side of the wheels fall out of the groove(snap) when I pick up the trailer. I suspect that in time they will fall off completely when the trailer is picked up.
The tanker trailer has the same wheel problem as the box trailer. The lights are on the mud flaps..not sure, but I think they should be up higher on the trailer (maybe the 1:1 drivers can shed some light on this).
The cab, although the same length as its' predecessor, has the rear wheels moved forward about 1/8th of an inch giving the illusion the cab is too long.
Also if you follow the plastic up from the gas tank you will notice a notch in the underside of the "diamond plate" top. This seems to make the second set of rear wheels very springy at the notch. Seems like without careful removal of the chassis, the second set of wheels and 5th wheel portion of the cab will be snapped off.
Will try to post pics after I figure out the new photo program.
ON A BRIGHT NOTE: That notch makes a great referrence point to cut that portion of the cab off to do some "customizing". Like building a flatbed or race truck.
These are just MY observations and in no way represent anyone living or dead.
I LIKE THE TRUCKS and can't wait to have some fun with them.
