INDIANAPOLIS, IN (April 16, 2009) – The third release of Muscle Car Garage™ Hobby Collection is filled with a number of “firsts” for 1:64 scale GreenLight Collectibles’ castings. The six-car set consists of a 1965 Ford Mustang GT Fastback (new casting, first use), a 1966 Ford Galaxie Hardtop (first use with a factory paint scheme), a 1968 Chevy Corvette L88 Coupe (first use as a coupe), a 1968 Chevy Chevelle SS Convertible (mold modification to adjust “ride height”) and a 1989 Pontiac Trans Am TTA (first use as a TTA, first use for TTA engine). This sixth car in the set is a 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, one of the more popular GreenLight castings over the last twelve months.

As with past MCG Hobby Collection series’, each car comes packaged in a clamshell with a shop tool accessory. The shop tools in MCG Hobby Series 3 include a Drill Press, Service Ramps, Engine Hoist, Floor Jack, Tool Box and Battery Charger. All accessories in this release are produced in new and exciting colors.

Muscle Car Garage was introduced in January 2006 as the maiden voyage into proprietary 1:64 scale die-cast under the GreenLight Collectibles brand name. Over the last three years, Muscle Car Garage has expanded into an umbrella product category that includes Muscle Car Garage Stock & Custom, Street & Strip, Hobby Collection and “Up In Flames”. In addition, Muscle Car Garage Holiday will be introduced later in 2009.

Each car in MCG Hobby Collection Series 3 is produced in a clamshell package with an accessory included, featuring 100% die-cast metal body and chassis’, real rubber tires, our highest level of detailed body decoration, painted engines and custom license plates. All cars are officially licensed by Ford, Chevrolet and Chrysler.

GreenLight MCG Hobby Collection Series 3 will be available at Toys R Us and through Hobby Distributors, Wholesalers and Retailers around the globe. This latest release of MCG Hobby Collection will be available in mid-May 2009.

The Daytona is nice (same color scheme as my 1:18 Ertl). But still no '72-'74 Challenger :(

Nice set! I'll have to have them all no doubt! Think maybe that L88 hood needs a slight haircut? The scale makes it look a bit tall....

Got to love those shop tools. I hope GL continues to create more of these. The new '65 Mustang GT looks great from what I can see.
