View Full Version : 1970's Mini Lindy ~ Monte Carlo
TJETDRAGRACER 04-15-2009, 10:32 PM I never knew that Mini Lindy made a 1970's style Monte Carlo mmm I wonder if this was the car that RRR used for a mold for there '70's MC stock car??? I seen this one on the web for sale at $79.oo in mint condition, well you can see by the pic's of it. ~ I wish that RRR would make a street version of there 1970's Style Monte Carlo ~ But probably can't do to the GM Copyright rule's.
NTxSlotCars 04-15-2009, 11:10 PM This is one of my favorite all time body styles. Is this a 71? I thought the 70 had round blinkers in the bumper?
mfinger1 04-15-2009, 11:17 PM You have this confused the Chevelle of the day. 70 Chevelle had rectagular, 71 & 72 had dual round.
ParkRNDL 04-15-2009, 11:33 PM i have a really beat one that i want to get around to someday... see the last few pics in the first post in this thread:

TJETDRAGRACER 04-15-2009, 11:34 PM Yes your right NtxSlotCars ~ The 1970 Monte Carlo did have round front turn signals.
TJETDRAGRACER 04-16-2009, 12:06 AM I think the only model ever made of the 1975 Monte Carlo was the Lindberg 1/32 Scale SnapFit Kit. ~ '75 had the round front head light's '76 & '77 they are square. ~ I have had this one for over 25 year's with the original box.
NTxSlotCars 04-16-2009, 08:08 PM Hey, I have a special glow in the dark Tyco Corvette I'll trade ya for the Monte Carlo.
here is a 70

NTxSlotCars 04-18-2009, 03:54 PM Excellent!
Sure would be SWEET to have the Maverick, Gremlin, and the Continental Mark III.

slotcarman12078 04-18-2009, 04:00 PM Hmmmmm... I have discussed mini lindys with Mr. Phil from RRR. I believe he told me he did use a lindy for the monte body he sells. I don't see why you can't make a street version from this kit. As far as GM's copyright stuff, he has no problem selling the conv. corvette which IMHO is probably one of the best looking kits he sells.. you need to scroll down the resin bodies list quite a bit to find it.
Excellent!

Fresh Cherries diecast Maverick and Gremlin are T jet sized diecast. Haven't bought any, detail is good, but I can't say for sure that they would fit any of the inlines. Somebody surely should have casted some? anybody out there?
They were, and still might be sold at Wal Mart.

AMC Pacer?

Along the same lines, a Chevette

might work as a race for a mini cooper
Roddgerr 04-20-2009, 05:31 PM A guy in our local club has a Gremlin and a Pacer. I think he got them from Roger Cory.
