O.K Guys as promised I was able to get a hold of Zerb, and gather a little more info on the up coming season.

I did confirm that there will in fact be a raised pit lane Oak Hill will also continue to run it's 3 tracks dirt oval, electric off road, and nitro off road. Track maintenance will be done weekly, to provide the smoothest off road tracks possible:tongue:

Also the TOP DOG sticker program will carry over from the carpet season to the off road season. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in each main receive a sticker. Each of which says Oakhill on them along with the words top dog in three differant colors to represent 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place "I'll see if I can get a picture of them posted". Also the winner of the a-main for each class will receive a coupon good for the following week entitling them to race their first class at half price. That's 6 bucks sweet:thumbsup:

The race schedule has been completed, and will be posted shortly. Along with that the guys are looking into going wifi so they can get on the forum more frequently to update everyone with the goings on "weather reports, results, etc.".

Point races will be consit of two 6 weeks series with at least one drop. Winner of each series will receive a pit box sticker stating they won which series. They are considering tracking the points from each series to crown the seasonal champ.

Two trophy races scheduled for the season. The first will be in July and the second one in August.

Track will be closed on three possible dates: 4th of July because it actually falls on a Saturday, the 3rd week of July, and there is a third I'll get back to you on.

Electric buggy and nitro buggy will be their own classes, unless a time occurs where only 3-4 show for a particular class. Then they will race together. On the weeks they are run separate there will be an additional main run. This main invites the top 4 from each class to race a 7 minute main for King Of the Hill bragging rights.

There will be larger heats. So rather than running two heats of four cars they'll run 8 cars in a heat race. This was considered for for several reasons. One more exciting races, two keeps the program moving, and 3rd it will help with marsheling. Nothing like only having 4 drivers to fill 6 marshaling spots for the next race.

I know it's not the will be starting in two weeks response everyone might have been looking for, but I hope it was enough to wet your whistles. As I get more info I will try to get it out there for everyone

Track building has begun at OakHill yesterday, alot of the jumps are already in. They'll be hosting a rock party on May 2nd, bring a rake. Zerb and I will be cooking dogs for those that donate alittle time to the cause.

May 9th they will be moving all coolers and equipment for the carpet loacation back to the off road track. They will also be testing all the loops and other equipment for opening on the 16th.

Thanks to all that lended a hand today, a lot was accomplished today. All the jumps are in, and many rocks were removed. The pipe will be laid tomorrow, which is when I will post pictures. I hate trying to figure out a track design, or path when pipes are not down viewing a pic

Watching Tom drive it though, it looks like a winner

Ok. Guys,

next weekend will be open practice for all classes. Track opens at 12:00pm and will be open until 5:00pm. The cost for 5 hours of run time will be $7.00 bucks. Because it's practice and not racing it covers as many cars as you want to run, unless two of your cars are on the track at the same time. Then the second driver will need to pay for practice as well.

The 16th will be our first week of club racing

Looks good, Is the loop on the right side of the straight before you enter pit lane?

badassrevo
05-04-2009, 08:14 AM
Can you loose sight of you car behind the big jump next to the straight?

jazjato
05-04-2009, 03:45 PM
The loop is going to be at the begining of the stright after the cross over. For those who have run Oakhill before, this layout has us running in the opposite direction, away from the yellow car.

There are no blind spots on the track, even behind the big jump. That is unless your 4'10"

Lastly the raised pit lane should be in for opening weekend:thumbsup:

Practice is canceled do to last nights rain storm hope to see you next week

jazjato
05-09-2009, 07:24 AM
The slash runs great on this track. There is lots of room to go three wide fighting for postions. The only jump it comes up short on is that last cross over before the stright. If your good its a 30/70 chance of making it, but adds to the fun in this class.

The track is roughly 170' by 80', not the biggest track but far from the smallest.

For directions you can map quest this address 2213 Hare Rd Waterford, PA 16441. 4 miles south of RT19 & RT97 split in Waterford on RT 97. Hare Rd is on the left just after the white house. Once on Hare road the track is about the 6-7th driveway on your right. If you reach the swamp you've gone one driveway too far or check them out at www.oakhillrcspeedway.com

05-10-2009, 09:12 AM
Looks good, you are going to need a pipe over each end of the lane to prevent people from comming up the ramp too fast and killing one of the pit guys. It will happen trust me.

05-10-2009, 09:14 AM
Jr's got that right. I've been on RcTech and several guys from Buffalo are looking to make the trip, along with our locals, and of course the Ohio boys:thumbsup:

im interested what do i need a pit table ,extension cord and how long if so

traxxas_trucks
05-10-2009, 10:25 AM
You will need to bring a pit table, i think they have extention cords for you to use, but some one will know on here if you need to bring one or not. And dont forget a power strip:tongue:

megasaxon
05-10-2009, 02:50 PM
yea you'll need a pit table probably and maybe an extension cord, length depends on how early you get there and where you end up pitting. I don't remember for sure if they have extras, i know usually they run a big out out from the garage to the pits

For Nitro Monster Truck or Novice Class can we run stock tires or do they need to be racing tires. As SLASH4 said, do we need our own pit tables? Planning on two of us coming from Warren Pa on the 23RD. Thanks, John

badassrevo
05-11-2009, 09:57 PM
You can run any tire you want. You will need a table and a chair and an extension cord.

jazjato
05-11-2009, 10:00 PM
It's run what you brung.

The track normally has a couple extra tables but it is recommended to bring your own cause they go fast. Powers strips and cords are available, but I personally bring my own strip.

Lastly with out question the place to race this year. Weekly sticker awards, great group of guys, chance at running half off the following week, just top notch set up

Thanks Chris, im going to get a few new pics tomarrow. To all electric 1/8th scales there will be 5 min heats and 10 min mains. Then the king of the hill will be a 7 min race.:wave:

chim13
05-12-2009, 09:18 AM
the track is running the same direction that it was , the cross over is just gone. But for those of you that have run at oak hill the track is running backwards from what you are used to:tongue::tongue:

All classes will be run on the nitro track for opening weekend. The electric track will receive all the tlc it needs Sunday afternoon and should be ready for week 2 of racing. Fear not the jumps on the nitro track were spaced to run both nitro and electric on it to begin with to add some varity.
