Ok, this is what I plan to do for the beginning of the season. We are going to run 21.5 2-cell, 10.5 1-cell, and 13.5 4-cell together. I'm doing this to allow guys that have 21.5 cars to get on the track while letting the guys that have 13.5 cars and that have not purchased any lipo yet to ease into the switch. The primary class will eventually be 10.5 1-cell. I'm sticking with the 1-cell because it's what we also plan on running for the bullring as well (13.5 1-cell). However, for the big events we will run 21.5 2-cell and 10.5 1-cell as seperate classes along with running the breakout class on big race days. I also want try 17.5 2-cell at the big events too, so if there are any takers please let me know.

The breakout class is going to be as followed. Any 10th scale pan car chassis and any electronics brushed or brushless. Nimh batteries only. The trick is not to go faster than the allowed lap time (i.e 7.0) or your lap will not count and will hurt your overall time.

Car weights are the current legal weights for the specific car with 2oz added for cap tires.

21.5 2-cell 40 oz.
10.5 1-cell 38 oz.
13.5 4-cell 43 oz.

Breakout class 43 oz.

I love this place. Making it fun to race again. I'm going to build something for the "breakout class"....

If at the big races you dont get enough to have seperate classes you will still combine them so we dont go home with a big frown from not being able to race??
I like what your doing, a good plan in the nimh to lipo transition period. I would even let stock brushed/4cell cars run in the 13.5 1S and 17.5/4cell if it seems close to fair to help the guys even further behind the brushless/lipo curve but tell them, this is the last year for brushed/4cell cars
Ahhhh the death of brushed motors and nimh batts, please can i throw in the first shovel full of dirt??????? and then dance on the grave??

Forgot to ask 1 more thing. SMC is producing their roar approve 3200 28C 2S battery with BRL and DODC spec labels on them. Sine they are the same batt with different label will they be legal?? Novak is doing the same thing for DODC 13.5 and 17.5 motors, they take their off the shelf roar approved pro motor and put a DODC spec label on them, will those also be legal??

What happened to the class 2 I seen on your websight 13.5 1S and 17.5 4 cell?? I dont see it listed here, only class 1 and the 3 break out class.

Cobra, As for the big races I plan to keep the classes seperated. I think there will be enough racers to support both. For the 13.5 1 cell/17.5 4 cell class, alot of our regulars are going with the 10.5 1 cell but if we get enough racers for that class we will be running that too. In reguards to the battery/motor question, we are sticking with the current list of roar approved batteries and motors so if your stuff is currently on the list there won't be an issue. I agree with you on the brushed stuff and the nimh:thumbsup:

Yo Boomer, For the start it's going to be whatever you have, truck or C.O.T, but I'd like to see all C.O.T by the second point series. Also, you sent me a pic of 2 cars, I'm guessing you want to 20 car:tongue:

It is a definate on the 10.5 1c. We had some on the track last week and the times were the same. We're having a free practice for anyone that's interested this Sunday, I should be there by 9 and have the computer setup by 10.

I can tell you what I run for tires but opinion will vary.

Ok the spec 2S 3200 28C lipo batts still have the SMC label on the bottom and its on the roar list. I hope there will be enough 17.5 4 cell and 13.5 1S cars for a class, like I said you can also run 4 cell stock with these for any one still living in the stone ages LOL Cobra, As for the big races I plan to keep the classes seperated. Any chance you could add a 3rd big race to the schedule??? for us left turn go fast on high banked cement nuts that cant make if for the friday night racing because we are more than 3-4 hours away mostly because of traffic and trip would only be 2.25 hour in normal traffic unless we took time off work or rearranged our schedule. I am sure there are many of us with that problem because of the increase you see in numbers on a sunday

Thanks,

It looks like you guys are going to get your wish:). This year the Oval Nats at Easley are on the same weekend as the Memorial race so I'm going to change the schedule a bit. It looks like the new date will be July 19th. However, fitting something in for the month of August might be tough. I will try and work it out though.

Garden State Concrete Oval Championship June 07

Who knows about this other than the Trax70 locals, don't see anything in the RC Oval Race Events, they're also going to have Modified racing if anyone's interested in going fast.

here at trax70 there is three class 21.5 2cell (3200 max) 1 cell 10.5 (smc only) and the break out and the only rule is that your car cannt do a lap that is faster then a 7.000

cobra22431

Mr goowernch29 said any roar legal so how can you say SMC only?? some of us got other roar legal packs, dont tell me we cant run them cause thats not what the man said on the first page of this thread. What time does the show start sunday? what time will the track get blown off for pratice?here at trax70 there is three class 21.5 2cell (3200 max) 1 cell 10.5 (smc only) and the break out and the only rule is that your car cannt do a lap that is faster then a 7.000

Cobra, at the time of the post on the first page, the SMC was the only 1c pack approved as a 1c pack on roar's list of batteries and we wanted to make sure we didn't get our racers caught up in the battery of the month wars so we made the SMC battery the only battery you can run for the 1c class. I remember you had asked about the labels on the 28c packs you had and they are ok because for the 2c class it is any roar legal battery up to 3200. Hope this helps.

I'll also have an announcement on the August race on Sunday it's gonna be good:thumbsup:

Goodwrench29

tbspeed1, there are mah ratings on lipo batteries. You would have to find out if where you run has a mah rule and go from there. For our track we have a 3200 max mah rule, so if you came into our store I would sell you a battery of no more that 3200mah for our 2c 21.5 class. Now c ratings is a whole different ballgame, lol:p
