Thanks to everyone who came out and helped work on the track today. Also to those who supplied equipment, tools, and supplies. The track layout has been changed, and is mostly ready. The tubes still need some spikes, a new loop needs buried, and a few other things. A few days of rain wouldn't hurt either.

Below are some pics. Remember, the $5 race is 5/3/09, weather permitting. We will then skip our normal second Sunday (Mother's Day), and the first points race will be 5/24/09.

What classes do you run and what kind of turn out do you get in each? Wondering specifically if you run 1/8th scale buggies and how many?

Classes are listed on the flyer below. The classes that we normally have a decent turn-out for are 1/8th scale buggy (our biggest class), 1/8th scale truggy, and sometimes monster truck. It looks like 1/8th scale electric will be a good turn out this season as well. We plan on running them separate if we get a good turn-out. Last season, there was usually two heats of 1/8th scale buggy.

Ok. I heard that you will have Spec and Mod Slash classes too. Is this correct?

If yes what would be the rules/Specs? I like the new TORC RC Rules and specs which allow the Traxxas alluminum parts in the Spec Clash class. Stock is 12T with the XL5 ESC to me!

I'm not sure where you heard that....?

We have never had anyone with a Slash show up on race day. If you bring at least three of them, they can run. If you bring less, we can put them in with the other 1/10th scale electrics, if there are enough for a class. That is hit or miss.

Ok thanks. I wonder why there aren't more Slash owners showing up. Maybe it's just to early in the season.

Yes, there is a race this Sunday.

For the first race this season the 1/8th scale turn-out was about 25, but last season it was typically a little less than that.

What time do you usually get done?

Well obviously that depends on the turnout....5 or 6 at the latest with a decent sized group.....earlier if the turnout is light.

I am assuming you take late sign-ups? I would like to come check it out, but I will might not be able to make it until noon or so. Gonna be in Chicago for a wedding on saturday night, and don't know how early i'll be able to crawl out of bed... lol

With racing starting at 11, does practice still start at 9? I'd have a 3 hr. drive, I want to plan accordingly.

Yes, practice still begins at 9am. The track has a few neighbors and we don't want to disturb them any earlier than that.

Hey guys,

We have a special event this Saturday at the nearby Monroe Missionary Baptist Church track. Come on out....you don't get many chances to "race" on this track. It's usually just open for practice. All the info is on the flyer below.

We will be back at White Park for race #3 of our Summer Points Series on July 26th.

the track is in a public park so it's pretty much always open for practice.

So, what's been going on with Rev at this point in the year? Are you guys still running on the same layout or has it been changed? Some of us were kicking around the idea of coming up this weekend. Or should we hold off till the points race for a better turn out?

Later,
Steve Weber
