There are some cars that have come with various purchases I have made. I sure could use some help identifying what it is I own.

1-I have what I am sure are (2) SG+ cars that came with a set. I have (2) other cars that look very similar. The differences are the suspect chassis are black with a metal band on the back and the pickup shoes surface where it meets the track is shorter. It is obviously older. Are they the same chassis but an earlier revision? Are the pickup shoes and springs interchangeable on these two chassis?

2-I am pretty sure I have a Tomy Turbo but how do I tell if it is a SRT?

3-I have 2 Life Like chassis. On the back of the chassis frame one is marked 052 with a Porsche body. It was a gift from 10-12 years ago. The other has 046 on the back of the chassis with a stock car body. The 052 has an extra plastic cross member where the brush tubes are located and the plastic piece on the axle (gear saver?) on the Porsche is white and larger versus the one one the stock car which is black. I would like to know what the difference is in the 2 chassis and are these (M) or (T) chassis.

4-Tycos-I have 2 cars with Firebird bodies that came with a set as a gift. The box says that that they are "HP Cars" Can I assume that these are HP-7's? There more 2 more cars that came with another set that have 2 different sets of bodies-Corvettes and Lamborghinis. The box says that these are Magnum 440 cars. Are these known as anything else? I have 3 more cars that have stock car bodies on the chassis that are similar to the 'Magnum' cars. The chassis design looks identical except the chassis are wider, the magnet configuration is different, and the pickup shoes are wider with a step. I am guessing that these are the 440 X2 chassis. Are there components that are interchangeable between these chassis? I have one other Tyco chassis that is gray and there are 2 magnets that are shaped somewhat like parallelgrams. The chassis also has a light if that makes a difference. I also just now noticed that the chassis is broken in the rear axle area on the crown gear side. Is there a fix for that or is it junk?

I hope somebody can teach me something here. I am getting ready to buy some spare parts for these cars because the women and children love running them. Except for the HP cars they are easy for them to drive at 12-13 volts.

Any recommended sources for setup on these cars and for the replacement parts? I especially need some help with tires for the older chassis.

1.) Yes both the same chassis. AFX SG+. The chassis with the axle retainer is an early import version. Everything is interchangeable.

2.) SRT has 2 small traction magnets. Tomy Turbo has one bar magnet.

3.) Look here for Lifelike comparisons: http://www.hoslotcarracing.com/Life-Like.html

4.) Tyco HP7 has a can motor. 440 Magnum and X2 are similar integrated inline designs. 440 is early design using a bar magnet for the traction magnet. The X2 used 2 separate traction magnets. The wider X2 chassis is for stock cars and was the last chassis produced by Tyco/Mattel. Everything is interchangeable with the 440 and 440 X2 except the rear magnets/bulkheads.

If it’s a heavy car, you’ll need a higher power output but bear in mind that some car marques enjoy better resale value than others
