Hi All,
I have a question for you t-jet guys out there!
I need clarification on the 2 styles of Alfa Romeos Aurora offered.
Seems some had the front fender spoiler-ettes, some didn't.
Can anyone explain?
Earlier / later versions??
help!!
thanks

I may be off base as I am relying om memory (Bob Beers book is in the mail) but I only recall the Alfa Romeo 33 with the chin spoilers. I have seen a few Alfas for sale on the bay without the spoilers and I think these have been modified. Just like wings on a F-1 or Indy car, the little things could break off in a rough hit.
So, this is a great opportunity for somebody armed with Bob's book to stump the Hutt. :drunk::hat::freak::dude:

I believe you are correct in your assessment. I have seen several on e-bay without the spoilers and listed as "mint" but the spoilers had been broken off or removed.

Hi Hutt,
I too have been perusing ebay items and it sure seems there were two versions.
I've seen'em sans chin spoilers. I've seen'em with masked faceshielded drivers which are definitely later models opposed to the earlier non faceshield drivers. ??????
I'm sure the spoiler just didn't knock off on so many and so cleanly.

have a gander at this. Looks too smooth to be broken?????
I think they all came with the spoilers. But could have any combination of drivers head helmeted or not , plus chrome or same color roll bar.

The spoilers are molded on the bottom edge, not necessarily evident in this pic, and the plastic is all the same. They weren't glued or heat bonded in like bumpers. You can smooth anything on a t jet and put a better than factory shine on what is left, just takes fine grit and a few minutes. Or the "goop' treatment works too, melt, flow smooth on the surface and reharden.

Drivers heads can be replaced as well. There are a number of places to get drivers heads or driver torsos. If it doesn't have the spoilers, it isn't mint. You may as well buy a resin body from Bad Dawg for around $8 and put it on a NOS aurora chassis. At least, it will look original.

Yup! The scuff and buff on the Alphie front spoiler is all too easy to execute.
